I haven't heard a bad Bill Evans shm sacd yet, though I haven't listened to them all yet. I think there are 17 in total iirc.

    Pretty sure they aren't no-noised.

Apart from the Riverside ones, I am getting all Bill Evans SHM-SACDs on Verve. Comparing to the infamous "rusted" Verve box remasters, these SHM-SACDs are miles better. Night and Day. Invest!

So take a title like Bill Evans "Waltz For Debby", and there are multiple OJC versions over the years. There's the original 10 track OJC (French) CD from 1987, and in the US from 1990. Seems to be the same disc (mastered by Joe Tarrantino) re-pressed over the year until in 2010 there is an eleven track OJC verison that lists "24 bit mastering by Joe Tarrantino". The original has bonus tracks inserted INTO the running orer of the album while the 2010 one puts them at the end.

But other than that, is the mastering the same? If not, which sounds better?

Have either of you had a chance to compare the VDJ with the others? I am curious to hear how they stack up.
