Bumping this thread, as I missed this release last year. It seems that this set has been reissued without the DVD-Audio disc. See the link below. Can anyone confirm this?

UPC is unchanged, I doubt they dropped the 5.1 disc, just an erroneous listing most likely.

IRONIC : Fed Ex just handed me my Pronounced SACD ! :bdance:

Thanks, Mike. Maybe I'll give the Wal-Mart disc a shot.

Well, that is the same crazy low price we had last year. Elliot Scheiner's surround mix is incredible BTW.

Thanks. I saw comments here about the surround mix. Scheiner does good work. I have a copy on order from Wal-Mart. Hopefully I'll get the three-disc set, but I am concerned by their listing.

Don't blame you there, but even the title Southern Surroundings would lose it's definition if the 5.1 were removed...Google doesn't help, but I'm confident. For you, and all the other fans out there.
I'll always be indebted to that disc for making it painfully obvious I needed a new player. When the Oppo arrived, all the mysterious dropouts and other problems magically disappeared. Imagine that.

I received the Skynyrd set from Wal-Mart yesterday. It is the three-disc set with the DVD-Audio disc. So ignore the part about a two-disc, CD/DVD set and order away. :)

I just received the disc Southern Surroundings. I love the DVD-A 5.1 mix. This thing sounds wonderful.

The 2 channel mix is pretty incredible as well. Definitely a great purchase... and cheap!

I found the 2 channel mix on the DVD to sound too compressed.

I think the recent MOFI sacd sounds better but this was a good second place. Definitely hirez skynyrd... which I like.

Someone should grab Darcy's Japanese 20P2 of Pronounced from the classifieds, and see what they think of it. Mine sounds crystal clear.

[IMG]With excellent Blu-ray Audio titles trickling out, it’s nice to see a collection of great songs come along in the previously released Lynyrd Skynyrd set, Southern Surroundings. Southern Surroundings was an superior set released in 2012, and featured not only the band’s classic big hits in an Elliott Scheiner remix, but also 5.1 Surround Sound tracks on a DVD-Audio disc along with hi-quality Stereo versions (96k/24-bit).
On May 12, Geffen will revisit that collection in an AUDIO ONLY Blu-ray Audio disc. The original contained an added DVD-Video of their Old Grey Whistle Test appearance. (I’m not sure if the audio from that show will be here.) But the fourteen classic tracks, including the 10+ minute extended song of “Free Bird” will be here.
The tracks here are likely the Scheiner tracks. As more details creep in, I’ll update for those that like this bit of news.
The track-list of the original release of Southern Surroundings is:
    CD:
    01: Sweet Home Alabama
    02: Gimme Three Steps
    03: Simple Man
    04: Saturday Night Special
    05: Swamp Music
06: The Ballad Of Curtis Loew
    07: Call Me The Breeze
    08: Comin’ Home
    09: Gimme Back My Bullets
    10: What’s your Name?
    11: You Got That Right
12: All I Can Do Is Write About It (Acoustic Version)
    13: That Smell
    14: Free Bird (Live)
DVD: Live on Old Grey Whistle Test – BBC Television
    01: Double Trouble
    02: I Ain’t The One
    03: Call Me The Breeze
04: I Got The Same Old Blues
    05: Every Mother’s Son
    06: Sweet Home Alabama
    07: Free Bird
    DVD-Audio:
    01: Saturday Night Special
    02: Gimme Three Steps
    03: Swamp Music
    04: Gimme Back My Bullets
05: The Ballad Of Curtis Loew
    06: You Got That Right
    07: That Smell
08: All I Can Do Is Write About It
    09: Simple Man
    10: Free Bird (Extended Version)
