You don`t need a SACD player to enjoy these,I only own Blue Train and the redbook sounds the best I ever heard.

Completely different series that has nothing to do with this Blue Note SACD series that Steve and Kevin are working on, other than both involving Blue Note titles. (Different record company, different albums, different mastering engineer, different disc format.)

Got my three thursday night and listened to them most of the weekened and all I can say is...

Hootin' & Tootin', where have you been all my life?

I play a li'l guitar and while I've loved everyone that's come out so far that guitar/organ combo is the sound I've been waiting to hear.

    next three, please!

I know that this is off topic, but this is how I would classify jazz:

    pre-bop
    bop
    be-bop
    hard-bop
    post-bop

According to the Acoustic Sounds site:

    May 30th
    Cannonball Adderley - Somethin' Else
    Dexter Gordon - Go

    July 10th
Hank Mobley - A Caddy For Daddy
    Joe Henderson - Page One
John Patton - Along Came John

I can't stop listening to Hootin' N' Tootin'. I love that there's so many bonus tracks its practically a double album.

I've got Lee-Way and Whistle Stop on the way from CD Pacific, and probably should have ordered Capuchin Swing while I was at it but I need to pace myself financially with the Audio Fidelity and MoFi product out there too.

I can't wait to hear these

Well, I made it through the music of Page One - what bliss - via my older cd copy, and the first two tracks of Grantstand (when a beautiful Jazz-induced sleep got the better of me). I'm ready for Maiden Voyage and Hub Tones, but somehow Doin' Allright, The Cat Walk, and Peckin' Time managed to get through my ears and into my head first, and, what more bliss, :righton:

Anyone know when Sidewinder is due out?

I don't know. Probably a long time because Sidewinder is in the 2nd batch of 25 albums. AP has not released all the albums from the 1st batch of 25.

Any news on this series? It's been months since anything new has been released?

Not sure what this means, but there are 4 titles on SA-CD.net now showing links to merchants:

    - Ike Quebec: Soul Samba Bossa Nova (jpc only)
    - John Patton: Along Came John
    - Joe Henderson: Page One
    - Hank Mobley: A Caddy For Daddy

Strangely the AS website does not currently available (or with any release date). Seems like a mistake to not be showing these as "coming soon" on their website before (or at the same time, at least) as every other online store?

I e-mailed the AS people and received no reply. Draw whatever conclusion you wish.

J&R had due dates for "Somethin' Else" and "Go" I remain dubious.

I would, but I'm not on a first-name basis with the AS customer service folks. Perhaps the gentleman named Eddie can call them. ;)
