Here is the list of the first 63 Music Matters, Ltd. BLUE NOTE 45 RPM titles.

I know (as well as many serious collectors world wide) this list is the real deal with some of the remaining true 5 star LPs that have not been reissued again and again to death.

Music for me is about sharing and discovery; I can hardly wait to work on these titles!!

Oops, one is listed twice (Eric Dolphy "Out To Lunch").

As you can see by the list there’s plenty for everyone to chew on. Remember, these are just the FIRST 63! You should be patient since because MUSIC MATTERS plans on doing this for a long time. Plan on getting to your favorites before we’re done.

And we plan on mining some of the other great jazz labels (some on EMI) after we’re done with Blue Note.

MUSIC MATTERS is into this for the long haul.

Forum readers y'all should be happy that great music will be coming your way from the Music Matters team for years to come.

    Steve's list

Wow! Very impressive list you have there Steve. I look forward to hearing every last one of them!

I noticed 84163 Eric Dolphy-Out To Lunch is listed twice. I like that one almost well enough to buy it twice.

    Happy (Blue Note) Listening!

It's just the first titles. I'm sure others will follow eventually.

All 'n all, the choices are excellent with lots of hard-to-find stuff in there. :righton: I just love the inclusion of Basra!!!

Steve, I don't sound like I'm complaining (I will eagerly purchase all 63 of those listed titles), but no Herbie Hancock and only one Grant Green?

I am, however, extremely exited about the Hank Mobley records.

I was under the impression this was only a mono recording. Please tell me I've got it wrong...

Lovin' the list. Sure there's titles missing I'd like to see, but it's such an abundance of riches there is no way I'm complaining.

There's a number of LP's on that list that are mono only.

Don't get me wrong -- jazz is great, and I look forward to the EMI titles (how about some Verve and Columbia jazz while you're at it?). But I'd love to see Music Matters tackle the best Elektra rock/folk titles of the 60s, the Atlantic era Stax soul titles (in big fat mono, please), and the best Motown singles.

  19. Parkertown

    Parkertown Tawny Port

    Yes, I see those.

But this one is being listed as a stereo title, hence the BST designation.

The earlier monos are listed as BLP, the mono designation.

Mmm...I see what you mean. Yeah, it's mono only.

WHAT? You are not looking forward to ELECTRONICALLY SIMULATED STEREO?

Actually, it is possible that the original session tapes were done in two channel, and if so, it can be mastered by Steve as true stereo.

I also seem to remember (but my memory is BAAAAAAD) that there was a stereo reissue by the Japanese or the U.S. I need a memory upgrade, argh!

I'm assuming that some of these titles have already been mastered, but you(Steve) was unable to talk about it until now.

    Blue Note titles

Wake up little Hifi campers...Have you seen the Acoustic Sounds website and the list of, and I quote "reissuing 25 cherry-picked Blue Note titles to be released throughout 2008"? Many of the titles we hadn't seen on MM's list have shown up. Looks like it's going to be an expensive year for jazz record purchases...

    Happy (Blue Note) Listening!
