Or they can shop around and see them at bestbuy.com for $9.99.

There is no excuse to justify theft.

Bestbuy does not ship to Australia. Otherwise I've have all the Zappa remasters by now.

Any more reviews of the 50 Big Ones compilation? I'm thinking of just getting this one for now to check the mastering.

Also, are the individual albums packaged in jewel cases or digipaks?

Charging $19.99 for catalog CD releases?
I know nothing will justify theft, I just don't want to hear the studio's crying about how CDs don't sell anymore.

As long as they don't use piracy as an excuse.

Neither. They are in a little LP-like sleeve only somehow cheaper looking than what we've seen for other mini lps. I don't think many people will be buying these for the packaging.

Just like the CRAPPY Beatles Pink Floyd and Apple Box reissues. :thumbsdn:

I remember buying the two-fers, complete with bonus tracks and detailed notes, for $12 a pop at Tower. $19 for these does seem a touch excessive. Getting a little more toothpaste out of the old tube by our friends in the Capitol Tower, it seems. Hope at least they don't cheat them out of their royalties this time.

I have The new Pet Sounds so far and the packaging is a disgrace. No idea why I got that one by itself since I ordered all the remasters together. Oh Amazon...you devil you!

Thanks. That's disappointing. These crappy cardboard sleeves usually mean scratched discs.

Are they Australian issues (domestic) or imports? If they are domestic CDs, that is ridiculous.

I did mention earlier that the 20 song Greatest Hits comes in a jewel case.

BTW When I bought That's Why God Made The Radio on LP that also has to be one of the thinnest covers I've seen for a recent record release.

Yeah. Too bad the Japanese issues get protective inner sleeves.

Missed that. Thanks for the info. It's a shame the other discs use such crappy sleeves.

I'm thinking of getting "Today", because I think of it as the pre-Pet Sounds album, and I've always felt maybe I would get even more out of it if it was in stereo. But I'm not an audiophile. Do you guys think it's worth it for me? Is the difference similar to the difference between the mono and stereo Pet Sounds?

It's not as entirely successful as the Pet Sounds stereo remix.

Right. It wasn't done with as much care as the Pet Sounds stereo mix. Hey, it's 9.99 at bestbuy.com. What can it hurt?

Mixed reviews and bad packaging are turning me off to this reissue program.

Probably good thinking guy. Better to find those Moody Blues LPs, maybe.

I bought 5, and that will probably be it for me.

Ordered 4 on bestbuy.com for a couple bucks more than I paid for 1 from Japan.

I ordered 3. I just hope they don't take forever to get here and they're in good shape. I ordered 2 Zappa titles from BB. I think it took 10 days to reach me and they were packaged in a very flimsy corrugated pouch. One jewel case was cracked. I replaced the cracked portion myself. No worries about the jewel case this time. Could get a cracked disc however. Or a buggered up sleeve.

I ordered 10 from Best Buy and 2 from Amazon. Hope to have them by the weekend. Amazon is giving me a 9 Oct delivery date. I guess Best Buy's will get here when they get here. It's not like I don't already have almost all the songs 5 to 10 times over. Man these guy have a lot of comps.

BTW the only song that makes all the comps that I absolutely can't stand is 409. Boy I hate that song!
