I think one that would sell extremely well would be The Chili Peppers Californication. Even non audiophiles are up in arms about the sound of this one and plenty have been sold. A tremendously popular album that sorely needs a nice mastering job.

That would be a major battle victory in the Loudness War...

And how about 'Death Magnetic - GH3 Version' seeing an official AF cd release?
That would make it interesting in the Metallica camp!

Automatic for the People is one of my favorite CDs, in fact. I love pretty much every song on it, especially the one about Montgomery Clift, and the obvious choices, "Everybody Hurts" and "Night Swimming."

Steve, after all the effort you put into Bad Company, would you consider doing Straight Shooter or is this beyond reach currently?

I'm sure this be the #1 choice if a poll was taken.

    It would be wonderful.

    * Some of these requests already have a good sounding (affordable) CD.

Warren Zevon by Warren Zevon. On Gold CD.

  9. Cool, I'm in. Would be nice if they offer something special with it, like free shipping or whatever. But I'll be happy to just get the releases.

Also, it would be nice to have this in numbered editions (each release individually numbered), and if you subscribe, you get the same number for each release. If that was the case, I'll get two subscriptions, one to listen to and want to preserve and keep sealed.

I'd vote for that one as well.

    Mmm...that's a good idea. :agree:

  12. What would be nice in addition to many classics from the 60's and 70's:

To get some properly mastered newer releases which have a bad CD mastering, like:

    Tom Petty - Highway Companion
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication and Stadium Arcade

    just to name a few.

How about giving us another shot at Aqualung? Since the DCC sells in the $200 range now.

    Verve

Steve, I would LOVE to see some old Verve jazz titles (Ella and Basie, Soulville, etc.). The Verve remasters from the 90's had beautifully laid-out packaging (Vartan), but the mastering was WACK!! Please dream up a bailout or rescue package for some of those titles--now more than ever!! :)

Not that I care, I'm happy to get these titles, but is there a 'process' by which you guys pick the titles that you want to go after?

    I'm just curious. :D

Will the new AF gold discs retain the jewel box packaging or go for mini-LP packaging?

If my opinion counts, stick with the classic jewel box packaging!

Not that cardboard packaging would deter me, but I just prefer jewel boxes!

Looking forward to some new gold CDs...hopefully reasonably priced like the last few. I think they're better sounding than MFSL and the price point was nice -- I probably bought one or two titles I wouldn't have bought had then been $25 or higher.

I think for every four or five of the albums AF (or DCC in the past) has done, and I'm talking definitive artists and albums which many of us appreciate, it would be nice to see something outside the box once in awhile.

Look how well the Metallica albums on DCC sold, and I seem to remember Marshall didn't want to do those.

On my wish list, I'd love to see something released on Hybrid SACD as well. Although I'm sure the majors will give you a thumbs down on any of the major titles.

Indeed. Plus it has my all time favorite REM song - "Sweetness Follows."

A classic, my favorite is Find the River. I agree with a previous post saying the original sounds fantastic. Many others need more improvement than this one IMO.

Phish would be great! I like some of the old classic rock and I will be picking up The Band the day it comes out (would like to see Big Pink as well) but it would be nice to see some newer stuff as well. Just about any of the pre first break up stuff would be great.

Will all the new titles be coming out at the same time or will be see say The Band in January followed by Pet Sounds in March?

Please consider some Tom Petty, any of his albums would be great, but would love to see Wildflowers.
