Steve, I never really try to bother you with stuff on this forum, mainly because I don't want to seem like I'm trying to kiss up or anything, but in regards to more CD's on the way, I have to say...

    THANK YOU!

P.S. Any chance you'd consider doing Bat Out of Hell by Meat Loaf if the opportunity presented itself?

I beg to differ on this statement ;)

My range of interest is very wide.
I've bought every SACD and 24K AF has done thus far.
    Can't see me changing now.......:D

    You aren't bothering me!

Glad you are all happy about this. It's going to be fun.

I'd love to do BAT OUT OF HELL. That album needs some serious mastering work!

All the great stuff from all the labels is on our list. It's just what falls in first..

Is The Band master tape the true master or is it a safety copy?

There seems to be some confusion on the Levon tape...

Could you please elaborate on that a bit?

I know you were only using it as an example but Ella's Clap Hands would be an excellent choice (especially since you already remastered it back in the DCC days but were unable to release it).

The rumor has always been that Levon has the real master tape.

I'm not a big Band fan, but this might be a good opportunity to become more familiar with them

And thanks for doing Pet Sounds again. :)

Thanks Reechie for answering the question from Steve. I had heard Levon had an un-eq'ed safety copy and not the real master tape.

Are the mixes from the original or second generation?

The ELLA is one of my favorite albums of all time. The small number of units we would sell would never turn a profit because it costs the same to license as Van Morrison.

I like them both and would think that (like last time at DCC with the jazz Golds) the profits of one would pay for the other.

At the start we need to actually break even though.. :)

so, if you do too good of a job again with these gold cd's and they sell like hotcakes the Majors will stop letting you do them and go back to rushing out their own inferior versions again, Insane!

well, for as long as it lasts I'm excited. :goodie:

I understand that this is a business and not entirely a labor of love. :)

Can you explain the "logic" behind Verve (or Universal or whomever owns the rights now) charging so much to license Clap Hands? As you implied, it's not exactly on everybody's iPod. Roughly how many copies of Clap Hands would you need to sell to turn even a small profit? Thanks.

How is the climate for licensing Elvis Presley material? "From Elvis in Memphis" is begging for a high quality CD release.
