Just checked mine, its a STERLING SS2/SS2.
I bought it on release day, still looks and sounds great.

Yes, indeedy, mine is minty as well. Lucky for me that one lone copy showed up. I am not joking that no one knew the new songs when TP played Van. in 12/79!

Anyone notice or experience a very loud crackling noise coming out of the left and a slight similiar sound - but not as loud on the right speaker at the begining of "Lousiana Rain." This lasts for a 1/2 revolution or so.

I'm speculating a flaw in the cutting.

This is the black vinyl (not red).

    Thanks

    Bob

Bump -- anyone? Would appreciate it as not accepting this set as is (will ask ED for a like-for-like replacement)

    Thanks

Ok, seriously, it's some fun sound effects that precede a number of tunes on this album. Nothing to worry about.

Played the new vinyl today and it sounds nice but am i the only one who find it to be rather bright?, (i played it with my tube quad II amplifier), the new vinyl is detailed and spacious but rather less "warm" then my original us copy.
I'm still pleased i got it(especially for the 2nd rarities vinyl) but hand on heart i'm slightly disappointed with the sound, it wasn't the sonic knock out punch i expected.

  10. Doctorwu, I always found this one bright to start but less warm is an unfortunate description...

Like you,I still love the record and will probably get it just for the extras.

The music is wonderful and that's the most important thing :righton:

I recently picked this up and listened to it tonight...all I can say is damn. I've never heard this album like this.

I just ordered my copy from Elusive Disc (boy did I somehow sleep on this one - apparently rapidly going OOP), eagerly awaiting hearing this!!!
