... not a lot of progress so far this week, the room is still a bit of a construction zone.

... however, the back of the room is taking shape as more software gets unpacked. :righton:

XRCDs, W&Ws and SACDs are now out of the moving boxes as well.

Agree completely. I enjoy looking at all kinds of setups - from the drool inducing to the modest. Always something interesting if you take a look.

Very impressive setup Miles. Can't quite say that i'm jealous because i don't know the speakers but i'm going to audition the W/P 8 and Sasha next weekend so maybe that will change ;)

Your room looks very inviting for a listening session though and your cd collection is beyond words. Looking forward to some more pictures...

Awesome pictures. I'm guessing the house must have been built fairly recently? In most British houses (built pre 50s) you'll struggle to find a room without firepaces/bay windows/alcoves/radiators to mess with your chances of achieving such a nice result.

p.s. until the 60s, Surrey ran right up to the Thames in central London, hence the presence of Surrey Cricket Club at the Oval.

Thank you, I had the chance to audition the Sasha's at the recent London audio show and was very impressed, let me know what you think.

You're right, the house was built 3-4 years ago, however, I have not yet given the full panorama view, one of the long sides has the fireplace and the other long side has double doors with a radiator on each side of it. I think it will not impact sound too much based on the overall size of the room but it does eat into my shelf space.

A piece of leftover pizza in a corner somewhere might make the room and gear less intimidating!!

Indeed. This really tells a lot about a person's ability to organize and handle situations.
What really impresses me is the TLC for each every detail and the sheer amount of so much good stuff brought together in a single room. There is nothing superficial and no unnecessary gear among here. Probably due to moving, If a CD ain't that good or older gear, that isn't in use anymore it probably doesn't make sense to ship it...
This is as good as it gets - most definitely and without that intimidating look, that some of those 'altars' of High End or mountains of records and cd's taking over the place, you find frequently among audiophiles, who stay too long in their man caves...
