I played this week a bit with speaker placement but will now wait for all the selves and the furniture to be fully set up before I continue to fine-tune.

This time it should be a lot easier as all the CDs are boxed and labeled by genre. :righton:

I still need to get a new shelf for all the box sets, for now they will stay in the moving boxes.

    Many thks my friend.

  11. So that's about 2,500+ CDs in those boxes then. A few 'essential' discs? You have a very understanding family sir. Cherish them.

How big is the rest of the collection?

That player can't be any good, and it's not worth the money...

This pic was the air-shipment, there rest was on my sea-shipment. You see most of my CDs that are in standard size packaging in one of the later pics, I used about 180 cartons with 40 CDs each. All the box sets etc are still in movers boxes.

... well, I'm still waiting for your full review of the Isis. ;)

  15. So 7,000 + CDS - That's an extensive library and resource. Well done! Is your room finished yet?

I thought the forum has decided it's rubbish....

Finishing issue 24 right now, then I can get back to serious listening. It will be in issue 25, which is coming out right on the tail of #24. So probably about Nov. 20.

But seriously, looking forward to meeting you when I get to the UK again next year....

Just started to sort in the CDs, have to still set up the stackable shelves, all the pictures, fine-tune the speaker placement ... maybe another two weeks before all is said and done.

Since I just moved here my English geography is pretty bad - how far are you from Surrey?

Would be great to set up a little listening session. :righton:

  20. Dependent exactly upon where you are located, maybe a 5 to 6 hour drive.

Good luck with the settling in to your new abode - hope things go well for you.

Since I've been unpacking CDs for most of the evening I might as well post a pic of the first completed shelf - part of my JPN collection. Have to give a shout out to Darcy for all his help, this morning I got my last missing VDJ 1500 series with the yellow spine from him - I know this forum has turned me into a geek.

So true, that player can only deliver 2 tone music in black & white - that Isis is capable of bringing you true colors .... .

Just joking - but now you see the difference from a visual pov with the 2 versions of AR first hand. The remaster looks much better ( to me)...
    Oops.
Hope not to start a new discussion here on which one really looks better..
