It's quite good, yes. However, it may have more to do with the single mix than the actual mastering.

My disc looks identical to this, except it says "Made in USA" at the bottom, where the pictured one says "Made In Japan".

On the back cover, it states "Record manufactured in Japan by CBS/Sony, Tokyo, Japan".

I have a disc with these exact EAC levels, but a completely different matrix: DIDP-020018 24 * ** ******** IFPI L337. The disc shows both EK 34974 and DIDP 020018. It is Made in USA. Barcode on the booklet is 0 7464-34974-2. Booklet states "Record Manufactured in Japan by CBS/Sony".

Does anybody know how this discs sounds compared to the Japanese 25 8P / early U.S. DADC discs? I just got my disc for $6 (including shipping), and I'm wondering if I should continue looking for the 25 8P/DADC. This disc doesn't sound really bad, but also not very good. It could do with a little more bass and and a little more sound stage.

My (Now Made In The USA) matches the Japan for Japan but without any DIDP info, CD-Matrix -1A EK34974 31 B1, nothing else, thanks George P for the graph :)

[/MODESTY] Thanks, It was mine :). Originally from here. [MODESTY]

Can't believe it was over 6 ago I started this thread. Anyhow for digital versions the early DADC still reigns supreme. 25 8p is exactly the same of course not reason to spend coin on it unless you are also a collector. In shops in my area the early DADC sells for under $5. Please keep in mind the album is not the best sounding recording and will never really sound truly good. I have a vinyl rip for the Kevin Gray mastered LP of a few years ago, I recommend this mastering, in fact I may slightly prefer it over the early DADC/258p.
