I posted this nine hours ago but now it's lost in a closed thread. But for anyone wondering, and there were many, the 2 online-only tracks are available separately on iTunes US for $1.29 each.

I've contacted Topspin. Had one holding reply back and promised an answer soon as to why the discs - Deluxe set plus Mono vinyl have not shipped.

Paul Buchanan box set was distributed by Topspin and dispatched last Friday arriving today so don't understand why the Ram items were not similarly treated.

  4. Re: just checked Amazon.ca and Amazon.com for the mono Ram LP.

I just read those shipping delays at their respective Web sites, and I haven't even placed an order yet. :sigh: Was going to do it today. Held off because I was checking all the local indie shops and the local HMV stores. None of them brought in the LP.

Are there any other on-line retailers with the mono LP still in stock?

I bought the BOTR hi-rez set.
For about the same amount they are charging for the Ram hi-rez, I'm pretty sure I got everything.

The videos, unlimited and limited hirez, pdf booklets, mp3 and apple lossless.

Pretty much everything but the deluxe book.

Not sure why they changed their approach.

    Here is what I want...

Unlimited Hi-Rez of all digital tracks (including Mono)
Digital video of the DVD content
PDF of at least the 2 disc set.
Lossy files (but I can take care of that part)

    Why wasn't that an option?

Place order with Amazon for both the stereo and mono vinyl on March 22. Stereo shipped on 21st, mono shipped this morning.

No Hi-Res for the 2 x exclusive BotR tracks. They were MP3. A handful of folk on here however got links to them as uncompressed WAVs in error.
I fought with Topspin for days to get the WAVs without any joy. They told me anyone who claimed they'd got WAVs were fibbing....... :D

AmazonIT shipped it yesterday and it has arrived 20 minutes ago. Spinning it right now. I really can't tell if the source is analogue or hi-res digital, but it sure sounds great to my ears. I guess this will be my go-to version from now on: I only own a UK stereo -1/-1 LP which sounds great, but this one has a lot of punch AND detail...

    Couriouser and curiouser........

We assumed that as the 2 x download only tracks were exclusive to iTunes and PaulMcCartney.com only, then the download codes in the editions distributed generally would therefore not have them.

I think they had to in order to fit all of the extra crap in there.

  17. I'll see mine sometime today and am excited. I kind of doubt that the mastering on the main disc will beat Steve's which is one of the best sounding CDs out there (and I have no idea what he had to work with but it sounds stellar).

The extras are nice to have as well. I'm glad there's no marbles. Nothing for my cat or dog (or kid) to swallow.

So who has the best price for the deluxe book version (4 CDs/1 DVD)? Amazon.com has it for $90.99.

That's wonderful news! Are the 2 bonus tracks hi-res 24/96 also?

But it still fits in a row with the other books, it's just thicker? Can't see how they could have been more consistent unless they chucked the rest of the stuff in a cardboard box. Of course, then people would complain that the earlier and later reissue don't have the same cardboard box and they don't have anywhere to store their prized Little Book of Sheep!

    You'll be fine.

And if it does beat Steve's, people will be afraid to say so.
