    Almost time!

I think we're going to see Joan's husband and Pete's married love interest in this episode. And Glen may drop the trou! :)

Well, we saw Pete's gal for sure. . . electro shock? OMG.

"I'm President of the Howdy Doody Circus Army" Lost it with that one. Great line. This is the season Pete gets beat. And he's going to get his apartment.

Roger is still making me laugh with his antics. I can't help but like him.

It was interesting to see Lane's widow lash out at the firm. With good reason.

    We got to see Peggy!

I liked the Megan screen test and Don's reaction to viewing it. His helping/handing her that part was sweet. He's really lucky to have her. . . he has so much more passion in his home life than with Bets.

And then at the very end. . . temptation. What do you gents think he gave as an answer to that question?

I was pleasantly surprised to see Peggy in this episode. I hope we will still see her regularly, next season. My wife remembered what the name of the cigarette becomes that Peggy is working on.

Casino Royale and You Only Live Twice. Nice!

Glad to see Peggy. Although she's gone from Sterling-Cooper, her scenes seem to reinforce the importance her character will continue to have on Mad Men.

Just a guess - Virginia Slims? Peggy made a big deal about how she was going to Virginia, after all.

What a tremendous episode. This entire season has just been taxing - each hour (or 46 minutes, or whatever it actually is) feels like a 2 1/2 hour movie.

    What a show.

Great season finale! At the movies with Peggy and Don to see 'Casino Royale' - and 'You Only Live Twice' theme played at the end! Gotta be Virginia Slims that Peggy is working on. Roger taking more LSD, standing naked in the window for all of New York City to see. And, it wasn't Glenn on the phone!

Think I just watched Peggy in this episode. Yeah, pretty sure it was Peggy.

Damn! Nobody went down the elevator shaft. I'm bummed!

That was a superb shot showing all the partners spread out on the second floor of their about-to-be-expanded office.

I think the entire episode was just setting up what was going to happen next year: Don going back to philandering (?), the ad agency almost doubling in size, Don's ongoing guilt at his brother's death (and denying his previous life), Pete apparently accepting his married fate, Peggy's success on her own, Megan possibly having a real career as an actress... But no real wrap-ups that I can see -- not yet. (Unless you count the departed Mr. Price.)

Heck, I wanna know what they're going to call the firm. "Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce" is clearly needs a new name...

As a native Virginian, I kind of resent the implication that we just let dogs "do it" outside every motel window. We are much more civilized than that.:D:shh::laugh:

The tag line from the famous 1968 Virginia Slims advertising campaign in the "real world" was "You've come a long way, baby". It was a ridiculously successful ad campaign that is considered to be responsible for a marked increase in smoking among teenage girls by historians and media watchdogs. If Peggy delivers that in the "Mad Men world", she will be collecting all of the major advertising awards that Don is normally up for except for the ones from the health advocacy groups. :)

[finishing my thought after the thread update time expired]...and, of course, the tag line is a meta commentary on the character of Peggy herself.

surely they won't be as anal as crosby, stills, nash, young.

    and reeves. :D

my favorite agency name: wong-doody (since expanded partners and gone acronymic), recently featured on Man Men's AMC chaser, the Pitch.

I kept waiting for one of the partners to say "The agency's doing really well now, time to hand out those bonuses..."

Agreed. The shot of Don walking into the darkness leaving Megan on the lighted soundstage was similarly superb, IMHO.

I think they exhausted their share of "on the nose" irony in all of the discussions that resulted in Lane not actually getting a bonus earlier in the season. Doing that would have been hitting us in the face like we were Pete Campbell. ;)

When the nudity warning came on before the episode started (really? we need those now?) I got my hopes up for Trudy, but all we got was Roger's butt instead. What a ripoff.:shake:

But then Pete got punched in the face and all was right in the world again.:goodie: I just can't not like any episode where Pete gets punched in the face.

Alexis Bledel "sideage" had to offer at least some small compensation for you.

It is the cure for all episodic ills. :) I have to admit that I am starting to feel sorry for Pete, particularly after his revealing monologue at the hospital laid out exactly how in need of help and incapable of asking for it he is.

I actually felt a bit sorry for Pete in this episode...until he started mouthing off to the train conductor! He deserved that one.

Roger and Mme. Calvet, the scene and dialogue was smooth as silk... Ooh la la! Roger digs the psychedelic:righton:
The closing scene really struck a chord for me with the oh so perfect tune.

Great episode. There was nothing in this episode that I can criticize. This whole season was great, and went by much too quickly. Glad to see that the prediction of the end of Peggy was not true.

Great episode and great season. The most satisfying season of TV I think I've ever watched in a very long time. I always felt like the journey with these characters was worth it.

And that was a great shot with all the partners. It was like Weiner saying "This is where I wanted to get you all to this season".
