    OK, first, I'm very much open to "classic" artists mounting a "come-back". I'm not opposed to "real country" music. I'm perfectly willing to accept Loretta Lynn in a modern form. This is magnified by the fact that Jack White of the White Stripes produced and appears on several tracks...

    That said, this album, for me at least, is OK, but not a "classic". I admit I'm not a country music afficiando per se, but I'm very open to albums that transcend that narrow genre. On that score, this album is pretty good, but definitely not a classic for me.

    Worth while, but not unbelievably illuminating as some have portrayed it...

    One of country's classic artists releasing one of her finest if not finest albums containing all original compositions (a rarity in the country genre). You kinda have to notch it in the classic slot. I mean, a classic won't sound like a classic to everyone. For example, I'm not a big fan of Led Zeppelin, but I acknoledge that some of their albums are classics just in the history sense of it and influence.
