@Larry Geller, can you post the matrix info for the original aluminum DCC with the solo Shoot Out? Also, do you have that copy of ICE?

Does anyone happen to know when the revised version without Shoot Out was issued?

    Thanks.

The Right Stuff reissue from 1995 doesn't have it.

    Hello everybody :)
    Firstly sorry for my English...

Is very interesting for me to know more about this "Delta Lady" CD on Del Rack.
I'm trying on the web but no information.

Could i see the picture sleeve?

Could someone send me on mp3 the 5:00 minuts version of Delta Lady?
Would mean a lot for me...
    My mail is [email protected]

Shine a light demo with Ringo, is the same version available on the 1993 bonus tracks of Leon Russell album on DCC gold disc?

    Thank you

Leon Russell - "Delta Lady" on Del Rack--ALBUM REVIEW

It appears it's not currently on Discogs. I'll add it momentarily.

Shine A Light isn't on the Delta Lady CD.

Can it possibly be a coincidence that this thread resurfaced on the same day that one of these sold in the classifieds?

I found one, but at the time of the original release. I must give it a new listen.

I can't reply to your review as the thread is closed, but I wanted to make a comment:

Eric Clapton is credited as playing on Beware Of Darkness, and I believe that he's playing that guitar part. Which would mean that he might not even be on the original album mix, despite a credit.

    Here's a question:

On the gold CD, Dixie Lullaby includes a little dialog at the start. This same exchange is also on the Del Rack CD. Was this originally on a vinyl edition?

No. I'm pretty sure the gold has it inserted from the Delta Lady remix.

Anything else on the Gold CD that differs from the vinyl?

I'm trying to gather every version of the songs from this album. Of course, The Best Of Leon DCC also contains Roll Away The Stone and Hummingbird, listed as "Original Versions" which differ from the album versions (Roll Away The Stone is a slightly different mix, and also has a few seconds of pre-song noodling, while Hummingbird is a noticeably different mix and although it begins fading at the same point, it doesn't fade as fast, resulting in another 15 seconds or so of music!)

Yes, short answer is the gold CD matches the vinyl, except:

    1) The inserted intro to Dixie Lullaby.
    2) The stereo remix of Old Masters.

The original DCC (and Right Stuff reissue) uses a few alternate mixes (but the original mix of Old Masters).

Today I posted an alt. version of this note on the discogs entry of this CD. I was listening to my copy of Delta Lady just this morning using Windows Media Play in my computer. The statement that the songs on the CD are "extra-long versions" is a bit misleading and the length of the songs shown on the back insert are incorrect according to what WMP showed on my computer screen. For example, Delta Lady shows to be 4:20 minutes long, not 5:00 as shown on the CD insert. Beware of Darkness is 4:56 instead of the 5:40 as shown. When I put the CD into my computer, the information embedded (or encoded) on the disc brought up the image and song list of the DVD audio disc of Leon's first solo album (see Leon Russell - Leon Russell ) and not the image and song list for Delta Lady. Does this indicate there was an error in the encoding of the disc when it was manufactured? Or is WMP gleaning information from the Internet erroneously? Comparing the songs on this CD with the originally released versions for song length found minor differences in most cases. There are some differences in the takes used for some (but not all) of these songs (added background vocals, different instrumentation, etc.) that a Leon Russell completest would enjoy. I have Leon's catalog on the original DCC Silver CDs, The Right Stuff CDs, the Gold CD of Leon's 1st, the Audio Fidelity CD of the Shelter People album, multiple copies of the original vinyl LPs from around the world plus the new, translucent blue vinyl from Audio Fidelity, all in search of the perfect copy/version of anything Leon released. But after reading the discussion dating back 15 years and Steve's recollection of what went into the CDs, my head is absolutely spinning with confusion.

The times on the back of the tray are incorrect, but some tracks are in fact extended over the original mixes, so in that sense they are "extra-long".

There is no image on the disc itself. WMP would be pulling that from the Internet.
