Of course:righton:. I have recently watched Iron Man 2 and all the other movies that lead us to the Avengers.

I don't want to derail this thread, but I will say I enjoyed the Avengers movie a lot. Go ahead, make the wife happy.

I just re-watched the Harry Palmer trilogy. The Ipcress File is still IMO the best of all spy films and one of those that so struck a chord with me that I never ever forgot it. Funeral in Berlin is an engaging simple story of double and triple crosses with great location shooting around the Berlin Wall. Billion Dollar Brain is some kind of disorientating brilliant art movie or something.
Sadly all three are OOP in the US. Ipcress has a Blu-ray in Europe I'd like to import, Funeral is available in Region 2, and I snagged Brain before it disappeared. The latter took forever to come out on video as it had a snippet of Beatles music for 30 or so seconds. That's been snipped out.
The really interesting thing about all three is that they feature the same character who doesn't change, but each film has an entirely different approach and feel to it. If you like your spies serious, try the working class spectacled anti-Bond.

Now I've got to watch the two 90's continuation movies that are reputedly awful. I think they were made for TV or something.

    J. Edgar - OK at best. It just felt slow and dull to me.

Love both Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway, but strangely, I could not get into Inland Empire. Not sure if it's just me. Those who have seen all 3, do you feel Inland Empire as good as the other 2?

I love Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway and have seen both more times than a person probably should but I loathe Inland Empire. David Lynch reminds me of Stephen King in that he needs an editor and shouldn't have free reign on his work. Also put out these films on blu-ray already.

I saw the Coen's Blood Simple for the first time last night, on BD. This is some twisted yarn.

Last night we completed the Michael Moore trifecta of films we hadn't seen with:
    Bowling For Columbine

    I love that guy's work.
