Watched "The Social Network" a few days ago and liked it a lot. Great dialogues.

I also watched"Tamara Drewe" by Stephen Frears. Good fun.

Slower than the first two movies in the series but enjoyable nonetheless.

I plan to watch my collection of Pam Grier dvd's, as soon as I get several hours of free time, with my children out of the house...I met her yesterday, and feel the, ahem, desire to experience more....she is still sexy at 62 years old

I watched Casino Royale, '67, on BD. It looked purr-dy good. The making of featurette was good. It surprised me that Peter Sellers was fired. That's why he isn't in the climax.

Try Cleopatra Jones with Tamara Dobson and there's always Car Wash.

not really....best way to get them is individually, most of them can be had cheap/used on Amazon...essential titles are Coffey, Foxy Brown, Superfly, and Hitman

Across 110 Tenth Street (1972) is another that I want to add to my list.

    Love Jackie Brown btw.

I recorded that one off MGM HD last year. I was rather disappointed by it. Most of the film is Anthony Quinn bantering with the black cops. I thought it rather average. Even the theme song by Bobby Wommack was disappointing. The version in Jackie Brown was much better.

I can't give this film any high praise.

I doubt you'll see Pam in the later two but she is in the Blu-Ray Above The Law. DVDs that I have with her in them are Black Mama - White Mama, Coffey, Foxy Brown, Sheba Baby, Wilder, Women In Cages, Jackie Brown, Scream Blackula Scream and maybe others.

Insidious . . . a slow first half led to an interesting and suspenseful second half.

I saw some great movies this weekend. Saving Private Ryan, which was fantastic (except for the patriotic bookends), Spinal Tap (even funnier the second time), and I just saw Kill Bill Volume 1, which was totally insane. Can't wait to see Volume 2 tommorow night!

Not really. A double sided DVD means there's twice as much opportunity for it to scratch (especially for those idiots who still think it's okay to put your fingers all over the shiny side), and I also believe that some players can have trouble reading DVDs with two sides. The onlys one I've ever come across were a copy of Ben-Hur I rented from Blockbuster, and a DVD-Audio of Fleetwood Mac's "The Dance", which I found in an apartment my family rented once.
