I'd take the opposite viewpoint. I think it's a top-notch western and I like it as much or more than ever.

I know, I do understand why it is such a favorite of so many people.

Finally got through Topaz in one sitting. It's not bad or anything-just not that challenging. Much like Torn Curtain in that regard. A few great set pieces and shots, and the trouble with the ending just hurts it more. I do think the original duel was best.

A Time To Kill on DVD

Hadn't seen this one in awhile but I still find the subject matter disturbing.

Good movie, looks fine on good old DVD.

    One of my favorites.

  11. It's so clear that Hitchcock was uncertain with this film from the mulitple endings to some of his casting decisions.

Uncertainty for Hitch was....death for his film. If he had recut "Vertigo" the way that he had thought about it before Alma convinced him otherwise.

Had so much promise with Morgan Freeman, Christopher Walken and William H. Macy. It was so very dull.

Have You Heard About the Morgan's?

Hugh Grant plays the same character, yet again.

And Sarah Jessica Parker is unappealing as usual.

Yet I liked the movie....because of the supporting cast.
The two assistants back in NY were good along with Sam Elliot (was he born to play a cowboy or what?) and Mary Steenburgen who I thought was excellent. She sure is aging well :)
