This is my new favorite thing to do with cleaning, thanks! I'm using the Mapleshade Phonophile system and the handles are great for steaming.

A bit of advice. If your careful you can take your dent puller apart and coat the inside spring a metal washers with oil. This has to be done periodically as the moisture will eventually rust the spring/washers rendering the puller useless. Using the oil will keep your dent puller in great shape. Water stays trapped inside if not dried after use. Shake the water out after use and store in a dry area vertically.

  7. I have recently been cleaning my LPs with distilled water and Tergitol in a Spin Clean machine. Have had some very good results so far. However the mixed solution was dripping onto the record labels. It caused some minor label issues. So after work today, I went to Canadian Tire and picked up 2 dent pullers. They are working great. The LP labels through a couple of cleans (just completed (Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street - late 1970s EMI U.K. pressing) came out bone dry. Great stuff. Thanks to the pr for posting this thread.

The dent pullers were $6.99 each and the Exile LPs btw, haven't sounded better.

I bet the AutoZone, clerks are gonna get a lot of phone calls, and Audiophiles_ walking in to pick these up now, and probably lines out the door much more than RSD.

    Water rarely damages labels.

It's cool and interesting but I think we are going insane about this stuff.
