Kinks Deluxe editions available for pre-order

The first 3 were cheaper, even before deducting VAT, weren't they?

 

If they can, Amazon.co.uk loves stuffing many items in their flimsy mailers at once. That might be fine for domestic transit, but items often arrive crushed for international delivery. The Kinks' sets are especially prone to damage, as they barely support any pressure from the top or bottom of the covers, being all thin cardboard stock. Two out of the three spines arrived with creases. The only time I have ever had a stiff box package from Amazon.co.uk was for a giant 20-DVD box set.

 

Wait, so there's another difference between the PRT The Kinks Are Well Respected Men and the Castle?

What did they change on "Dedicated Follower of Fashion"? On the PRT there's a big glitch in one channel right at the beginning of the song; did they fix that? (It must be damage on the production master. On the new Deluxe Edition version of "Dedicated Follower" the glitch is unnoticeable, but you can see traces of it on the spectrograph.)

 

Definitely no glitch on the Castle. As for the whole song, the sound is fuller, particularly in the parts with voice and guitar only. Looks like they did some work on the Castle or even they used different sources.

 

Amazon UK are now showing the release date as being pushed back by a fortnight to 20th June.

 

Still June 7 at Amazon.com.

 

And this site http://www.clashmusic.com/news/the-kinks-prepare-more-re-issues says June 13th. Take your pick!

 

And the "Official site", still has June 6th ... but then again, they have that as the release date for Muswell, too, and that's nowhere to be found ... anywhere!
