Please let us know how you like POB! One of my favorite albums, and one that is not faithfully represented on CD... yet?

Could you send me a sample of your Polydor M&H? (Something that it's easier to compare, like quieter tracks or quieter parts). I've got a brazilian Polydor and I'd love to know which mastering it features.

    thanks in advance!

After the new reissues, we could then make this compilation of left-over tracks:

John Lennon – Loose Ends (1969-1980)

    1. Give Peace A Chance (single)
    2. Cold Turkey (single)
    3. Instant Karma (single)
    4. Power To The People (single)
    5. Happy X-mas (War Is Over) (single)
    6. Aisumasen (I'm Sorry) (home demo)
    7. Bring On The Lucie (Freda Peeple) (home demo)
    8. Meat City (home demo)
    9. Nobody Loves You (When You're Down and Out) (alternate version)
    10. Move Over Ms. L. (b-side)
    11. Since My Baby Left Me (outtake)
    12. Just Because (outtake)
    13. Help Me To Help Myself (home demo)
    14. I’m Stepping Out (home demo)

    Bonus tracks:

    15. Instant Karma (US mix)
    16. Meat City (single mix)
    17. Walls & Bridges Promotional Interview
    18. Central Park Stroll

I have not included remixes, except for the two additional single mixes made during John's life time.

  4. Does anyone know if the individual CDs, and/or "Double Fantasy Stripped Down" will have booklets included- a la The Beatles 2009 remasters?

Yes you are completely right and this is not common sense but i am really really put off by the artwork on the stripped down version and the way this re-mastering campaign has been focused on the original mixes with the way John wanted them, then they stripping down Double Fantasy (his last album) then added a crappy cover, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, plus this will be the last Lennon albums i purchase on CD for at least a decade (unless something amazing comes out) and i don't want to pulling out that cover for the next 10 years.

Although i might be forced too :realmad:

Just got Double Fantasy Stripped Down on my way home today. Got it form my usual store and they had all of the new cd's out plus three copies of the box.

Gave it a quick listen in the car on the way home and liked what I heard. Very enjoyable as a change of pace and gave me an insight into how the songs were put together.

I have put most of those on an expanded Menlove Ave.

So is the "John lead vocals" version of "Every Man Has A Woman Who Loves Him" (which was released as a single in 1984, and appeared on the 1990 Lennon box and the 2001 Milk & Honey reissue) back to being a rarity? Because I think that would be a real shame.

I'm hoping to find Stripped Down this weekend, and will rely on your review of the box before splurging.

I may go for the Hits/DVD set if the DVD offers anything different from the Lennon Legend disc.

Is $150 the current best online price in the states???
I am a borders and a barnes and noble member....

  18. I am waiting to see what price my local Best Buy lists it for.

I had a 15% off web coupon for Barnes and Noble, but the website wouldn't let me use it on the box set--I think the 15% discount could only be used on less expensive products, dagnabbit!

  19. Sadly it appears, from all I could tell messing around with it, that there is only one option & it costs, get this. $21.95!! Yikes...which means it ain't so cheap any more.

It is very bizzare that JohnLennon.com claims that they are going to ship "DHL Ground" for $21.95. This is impossible unless they're shipping it from overseas since DHL does NOT make domestic deliveries in the United States. Only UPS, USPS, and FedEx are left. DHL only does international shipping (I live in Wilmington, OH where DHL used to be headquartered).

Sometimes the coupon codes are not valid on pre-orders.

  23. Ah, that must be it. I just couldn't figure out why it was rejecting it. Oh well.
