I was sitting behind the floor seats at Lowell and there were a couple of guys asking very loudly about Lucia, "Who the ***K is that, Kristi Yamaguchi?" Apparently, their eyes weren't very good either. Then I heard comments like, "we want to hear Tull, not Queen!!" Then they shouted out things like, "Benny Goodman! Henny Youngman!" While I can understand where they're coming from, it's too bad people don't have open minds about music.

A guy got thrown out a couple rows in front of me as well. The funny thing was, I was talking to him before the show and he was talking about how he got kicked out of last year's Tull show at Hampton Casino Ballroom!! He was pretty drunk and causing a scene and the people in front of him got up to get security. In general, I've noticed a lot of hecklers between the show in Lowell and at Hampton Beach last year. Lots of talking during the acoustic numbers and lots of drunken behavior. I just don't get why some of these "fans" would pay $60 to get wasted at a concert when they could probably remember just as much by staying at home and playing the albums. I'm not kidding you, the audience at the Judas Priest show I saw over the summer (Manchester, NH) was better behaved than the Tull audience in Lowell.

What makes you think Lucia is all done with the tour? I thought she was supposed to remain with the band throughout the first leg of the American tour?

We saw Tull at Hampton Beach a few years ago and I'll NEVER see them there again. I'd rather drive to NYC. Worst Tull crowd ever... Lowell was bad, but not that bad. The year I saw them in HB I saw them the next night at the Fleet Boston Pavilion on Boston's waterfront and it was the best Tull show EVER. What a difference a day makes...

Ian said that Lucia was on her way after the show to start rehearsals with Cirque du Soleil (sp?). I don't know if he meant after the show or tour, but he said show.

I'm going to tonights Tull show. I hope the drunks stay home.

I agree that it is very annoying when grown men who should by now know better get trashed and then make fools of themselves to the artist and fans.

Even at last nights Steve Hackett show which was all-acoustic, one very drunk guy in his 50's was wooping like he was at a metal show. Tone it down buddy. Finally after getting shushed a few times I think he fell asleep.

While Ian definitely struggles with any attempt at a higher register these days, he did a very good job with the vocals last night.

He has to carry all the vocals (no one in the band sings at all) so no wonder after all these years he appears a little weathered.

Tull with Lucia Micarelli worked great. Especially on such surprises as "Kashmir" and "Bohemian Rhapsody":D

Martin Barre is still a fun guitarist to listen to and the classic Aqualung songs still give me goosebumps all these years later.

At this show they didn't hand out the free Aqualung Live cds till the end of the show. So instead of escaping though a side door we had to follow the crowd out the main doors to get our prize.

Carnegie Hall is a lovely place to see a concert (my first time) especially when Lucia would play her violin. Just heavenly how that sounds encapsulates that space.

They didn't hand out the free CDs at all at Foxwoods, but they handed them out on the way in at Lowell.

I'm glad to hear that Lucia is still on the tour. When I was buying tickets for the two shows that I saw I didn't have a job or I would have bought tix for Carnegie Hall also... that must have been a great show...
