    Thick as a Brick!

As far as Stand Up and Benefit go.....

I love Benefit, never got into Stand Up no matter how I tried. I should try it again this weekend.

Stand Up for me, tull could get pretensious on later releases but I still like all three

Thick as a Brick for me, although Minstrel in a Gallery is my favorite.

Tull's "pretensiousness" is one of the things drew me to them

    Aqualung
Also loved TAAB after that my enthusiasm for Tull went down hill a bit.

  11. Thick as a Brick-an incredible piece of music, and their best playing to boot.

I guess I'll go with Aqualung, but the run from Stand Up to Thick As A Brick is Tull's golden era, all 4 are must owns

Thick as a Brick, then Aqualung. Thick of a Brick has GREAT lyrics and music. Never gets old.

I'd probably have to go with Stand Up. Thick as a Brick has some great ideas and playing, but it starts to drag during the second half, rehashing the same ideas endlessly. To be honest, I don't have Aqualung at the moment, though I remember it well from my youth, so I'll be curious to re-examine it with the reissue. That was certainly a fertile period for the band and there are plenty of great singles/outtakes there as well (see Living In The Past).
