    Bursting Out

With "Bursting Out" (single disc US edit) the first issues UK/US have acceptable sound.
I like the 2 disc remaster of "Bursting Out" Jethro Tull Live.

For some reason the disc 2 sounds better than disc 1, even on vinyl. The remastered version sounds way too bright my ears.
"Bursting Out" was always pretty bad sounding live album, maybe because it was recorded on 8-track. Drums are thin, and the idea of putting bass in the left channel is weird.
This is one of the records that should have been remixed IMHO, it would have been even better document of a great live band in their peak.

...And yes, i love "A". And i do rate "Stormwatch" as good as SFtW and HH.

This fan of the bright (some recordings) understands. :D

I don't really like "live" albums, studio sound first for me please.

Yes, remaster disc 2 has better sound than disc 1 & disc 1 has copy control and disc 2 has no copy control.

Heavy Horses FTW! (in the parlance of todays youths)

I might even go as far as to say...it's my favorite Tull album...maybe. It is the 1st Tull vinyl I purchased. I have a friend at work who is checking out some bands he never got around to that I have some knowledge on (Alan Parsons Project, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull to name a few) ask me which Tull album to start with to get into them...after serious consideration it is the one I suggested. Not a weak song! (Except for perhaps the hey jude style outro of And The Mouse Police Never Sleeps...does it actually last the full lenght of the rest of the song or does it just seem like it?) I will say nothing else to tarnish the excelence of this album!

Recently picked up HH. There are some things on there I wasn't expecting: There is part of one song (not sure of the title at the moment) that suprisingly reminds me a lot of part of The Necromancer (Rush), and another song is basically disco (!) (...in open spa-haces...). Surprising twists when I was expecting a more 'folky' sounding album. (I still like it, although Brick is still my favorite as I get to know this band beyond that album and the hits. Really liking Benefit too.)

Yea, just picked that up today. Sounds fantastic in the car. It's the somewhat older version F2 21175. They didn't have the newer one, but doubt it if it's better. Anyone know?

Stormwatch I don't like at all. Used to have it.

Heavy Horses -- all these crazy Tull threads got me to break out my Tull collection - I guess that's the desired effect eh tootull?
also, call me crazy but I like the remasters - except for Aqualung.

:) Best Folk or Acoustical Rock - between this trio.
Stand Up (1969), Aqualung (1971), Minstrel in the Gallery(1975), Songs from the Wood (1976), Heavy Horses (1978), Stormwatch (1979), J-Tull Dot Com (1999); The Jethro Tull Christmas Album (2003).

Like I said, is 'Songs From The Wood' an easy winner?
I knew Stormwatch was the outsider. I love Stormwatch.
...and I was pleasantly surprised by the support for Heavy Horses.

I like Heavy Horses, especially "Moths"; I've heard the title track off Songs From The Wood and didn't care for it; never heard Stormwatch (or A).

Heavy Horses is the easy winner in my house. Songs From the Wood is indeed fantastic but there's something special about Horses...
