Well, the original mix has been in print for 40 years...

How is the new stereo mix compared to the original?

Seriously. If they'd included the original mix on CD, then people would be complaining about paying for the same thing they already have. Can't please everybody, certainly not on this board. . .

Any thoughts on the vinyl included. That's what I'm really interested in.

Is there decent bass on the remix? That's probably my biggest beef with the original.

We need a detailed review of the contents (sound quality) of the Special Edition big box. Who goes first? :)

Too bad this guy "consumers" didn't tell them he didn't want to have to purchase the LPs, the book and the other DVD in order to get the blu-ray disc.

At the time, back in June, there was no mentioned of a package. It was just Steven Wilson posting here that Aqualung would be released in 5.1 and that it would not be hi-rez. We (hi-rez lovers here, there, and everywhere) all got on our horses and bombarded EMI Canada. They passed it along higher up the chain and voila! The hi-rez was born. The news of the expensive special edition was a let-down for sure.

Agreed No interest in the vinyl here so passed on the set.

Take out teh vinyl and reduce the price and I would have taken a punt.

I am sure there are others who dont want the DVD or Blu ray, from the set.

I think I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but once again, why would you put the DVD and the Blu-ray in the same set? Maybe I'm missing something because I don't have Blu-ray, but if I did, how often would I ever use the DVD? Why not make the box available as CD/DVD or CD/Blu-ray like Springsteen did with "Darkness," and adjust the price accordingly. That or at least include the DVD with the 2CD set just as they did last year with "Stand Up."

    Blu-ray only required here.
Or waiting for that unbeatable price reduction (usually about two-three weeks after initial release). Then there is always Christmas. haha hoho We can wait, and wait. Maybe live longer because of patience.

 Don't rain on my parade.

I guess the lessen to be learned is be careful what you ask for, cause it might be a bit expensive.

Funny how folks can demand something and then be upset when they get their wish.

Funny, I don't recall anyone demanding or even wishing that the blu-ray disc would be available only in an expensive bundle with the LPs, book and a bunch of other discs.

Upset! No! Sad is a mad way to be. Blu-ray only wish is my only wish. Vinyl has not been welcome here since 1988.
