Thanks. In fact I installed the latest beta just yesterday, after skipping updates for 12 months (if it ain't broke, don't fix it!)

I've checked the audio settings too.

I have also tried ripping the disc as files, rather than as an image. Doing it this way, I get the first couple of beats from Aqualung, and my receiver shows DTS (I don't have DTS HD), but then the audio just cuts out and that's it.

Still struggling with getting the blu ray to play reliably :(

I wonder whether it is down to my stupidity and ignorance of formats.

My receiver does NOT support the latest hi resolution formats (HD stuff)

So, what option should I choose to get 5.1 sound? There is DTS HD, something called LPCM or something, but no bog standard Dolby Digital or DTS.

(Boy this is confusing..ejust as well the LP sounds so wonderful!)

Choose LPCM- any receiver can handle that.

And if you're a surround fan, you'll be blown away. If you think the LP sounds wonderful, wait until you hear the band given plenty of space to breathe... It's a reference surround mix.

It's not my reference with all the glitches which were never fixed.

IMO those glitches are inconsequential. I rarely notice them. Just a tiny pimple on a gorgeous face, barely noticeable under her make-up.

I dont think we should have to notice them, rarely or otherwise.

This is when I miss cd watchdog when ice magazine was around.

    This issue should be fixed.

Does anybody know about the stand-alone blu ray release?

The Collector's box set is priced too high right now :(

Remixes sound great. Wish the quads were remixed too

Remix the quad? That's a strange request? If you remix 2014 to multichannel you do it, as done on this release, to 5.1.

Hello: First post --I'm a bit late to this discussion. Regarding the 2 CD release: Are there discreet UK and US releases? I've seen both EMI and Parlophone listed as the labels. THANKS

Thank you, Plan9. Is the UK version EMI, and Parlophone the U.S. version? This is what's shown on the U.S. and UK Amazon sites. I am interested in acquiring the UK version.

I just bought this and find the Blu-Ray remix stereo really good. I did not notice any issues with it. Interestingly I did find a mark on the vinyl on the run out section on side 2. It looks like it extends into the end of the last cut, and might cause problems. Can't catch a break !

Well I sent the box back with the bad LP, and had to buy it elsewhere as that was the last one the first guy had. My intent was to sell the LP and CD's, so I wanted a nice LP, which this one is.

The stereo remix on Blu-ray and DVD is awesome. I don't care about the 4/5 channel mixes. On the Blu-Ray original stereo mix I heard 2 quick noises on My God, reminded me of vinyl noise, so I did not think much of it. The stereo remix on both DVD and Blu-ray is preferred to me and I think very nice.

The 2011 mix on vinyl is up for pre-order on numerous sites so I'm wondering if anyone of you have compared it to the classic records edition? I know that you could get the 2011 LP if you purchased the box set before. Cheers.

They are different mixes so they won't sound similar.
As I prefer the remix, the 2011 vinyl sounds largely better to me. But then again I never thought the Classic LP was fantastic.

Does anyone have a list of where the glitches are found on the original stereo "flat transfer"?

there are plans afoot - still to be 100% confirmed - to
rerelease Aqualung in March/April 2016. 'Wot - again??' I hear you say. Yes, but this
time it will be (a) at a price that even non-Premiership footballers can afford, (b) will
be repackaged into the now customary 'book' form, and (c) might even
have some extra goodies certainly some Steven Wilson 5.1
mixes of the previous package's bonus tracks.
