It's hard to beat the K2HD by First Impression Music. The best pressing (IMO)

    Never heard it.

But I love my US SACD from 2002. When I compared the SACD against the Verve CD re-master from 1997, the meaning of DSD/SACD comes true: there is so much more resolution on the SACD, compared with the CD.

The SHM-SACD will be here in a few days. Will it sound identical?

Then we have the upcoming Verve SACD's from AP...

Well... if the mastering wasn't done right.... DSD doesn't help. The 2002 SACD just sounds bad (IMO) compared against the FIM. I will check the SACD by Analogue Productions some time.......

  6. List it in the classifieds here and it will sell in a New York minute.

I listened to Aja and compared it VERY BRIEFLY to the 1980's MCA CD. I think I like the MCA (for example, the highs on Deacon Blues are nicely extended), but I can't be certain, since I was playing them on different transports and flipping back and forth. I think that the SACD is a beautiful package so I'm glad I bought it, but as usual, I find myself liking my first pressing. I suspect that it will end up sitting on my shelf, right next to the MFSL Gold and the remaster.

I agree, it is the best version I have of this album digitally.
