It's Official! The Beatles Remasters Thread (Pt. 01) *

I welcome the stereo versions, I prefer them all in Stereo , including Pepper, pyschedelia needs space.

Plus I have all the mono LPs anyway!

Let's hope these don't sound worse than the 87 versions, and these days, who knows?

This is gonna be an expensive 53rd birthday for me...and I LOVE IT!!!
After checking the Amazon.uk webpage, I have to say I couldn't be more thrilled as I and practically every Forum member have been waiting more than 22 years for this catalog to be done right for the CD format. Hopefully, it has!

 

Anything on BBC or in the papers over there Tim?

 

Amazon is showing Past Masters as two separate sets (although they've got their knickers in a twist because PM2 is twice the usual retail price.)

 

How many of the albums would be able to fit both mono and stereo on a single disc?

 

Well, there we are...never thought it would happen!
I'd like some info on the remastering-job they've done...was there remixing involved? I'll keep checking this forum for more info on that, I really hope they did a sensible job!

 

All bar Sgt Pepper and, of course, the White.

 

IT WON'T HAPPEN ON ITUNES, Itunes will NOT have exclusive Beatles downloads, and IMO they will not allow download of individual songs apart from what they select ie Album downloads only!! I believe if The Beatles do not have there own website doing downloads, then Amazon.co.uk will be doing them?

This will either be the Beatles Remaster bluff that breaks our fabfreaks backs or this is just " the beginning" of a lot of posts.

I want to be noted as the first to criticize something! ( me ! me! pick me! haha)... is it just me or is there a slight pinkish tint in some of the pics of the covers?... Sgt Peppers and Let it Be... George looks mad.

 

I was talking only last night with my Beatlefan friends and we were wondering if the fact that all the Apple board were together in New York this weekend had any significance beyond the David Lynch concert.
Now we just have five months to get well and truly worked up about this.

 

Given the difference in list price for Past & White, it seems those will be double discs and the others singles.

Yes I notice that. Could be scans, or just bad digital colour mix. But the cover of PPM looked very sharp when I zoomed in.

I'm gonna remain suspicious until I see EMI/Apple announce it and with Ringo and Macca playing last night they had the perfect opportunity!

 

When you go to HMV they definitely come up when you put in 'remastered beatles'
