    Leon says:

    "Johnny and the governor
Came and brought me to my senses
They make me feel just like a king
Made me lose all my bad defenses

And they knew all the places
    I needed to go
    All of the poeple
    I needed to know
    They knew who I needed
    And who needed me
And who would come help me

And who would just let me be

I was in the hands of angels"

I have the video of him with Mary on an old Saturday Night Live show. Really great stuff.

Leon has played on hundreds of sessions and written or co-written many, many hits. I'd be surprised if a lack of cash is an issue with him.

Check out http://www.preservemusic.org/. There are a number of podcasts available for download which give a very comprehensive summary of Leon's musical pedigree and history. When you see how many acts he has produced and how many sessions he has been on, you will likely be gobsmacked! As a starter: Johnny Burnette, Jackie DeShannon, Aretha Franklin, The Raiders, The Ventures, Dean Martin, Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, The Crystals, Darlene Love, Wayne Newton, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, The Rip Chords, James Darren, The Beach Boys, The Everly Brothers, Patti Page, Rick Nelson, Willie Nelson, The Byrds, Bobby Darin, Sam Cooke, Bruce Johnston, Jan & Dean, Pat Boone, Frank Sinatra, Badfinger, Joe Cocker, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Dave Mason, B.B. King, Freddie King, etc., etc., etc.

    Just an FYI...

I tried to move the above post the new avatars section but it (my server?) would not let me get back here to edit/erase this now redundant post...

    cheers,
