    Actually, the 1978 Invasion wasn't bad, plus it came up with a better explanation of how the aliens took over the human bodies.

  2. The final scene with Donald Sutherland was also quite chilling in an unexpected, different way from the original film.

    I also loved casting Leonard Nimoy in the flick.

  4. Sadly the commentary track that Joe Dante recorded with the two stars (Dana Winter and Kevin McCarthy) wasn't included on the Olive films licensed Blu-ray. That Blu-ray looks pretty terrific but it would have been nice to have their comments and Dante is an engaging interviewer.

    By the way, I feel that the remake by Phil Kaufman is equally as good as the original film and compliments it telling the same story in a very different setting.
