    Just a reminder that ALL FOUR of the Deep Purple MKII AF Remasters have been packaged together as the "Deep Purple Audio Fidelity Collection". It has a limited issue with 5000 units (mine is #1568). It's out of stock on AudioFidelity.net, but Amazon still has it listed. I grabbed my copy from DVD Pacific.

    Now enjoying a first spin of this gold CD. It is my first time ever hearing the album. Very crankable, with an overall warm sound.

    Thanks for the remaster, Steve!

    All Deep Purple versions from AF and DCC are my go to listening albums. I sure miss Audio Fidelity. Was a happy club member.

    My only AF disc I listen is WDWTWA. This one is better than the original EMI UK CD.

    Machine Head, Fireball and Made in Japan I prefer the original EMI's.

    @Steve Hoffman :
    One of my collecting buddies is a HUGE Purple fan/collector. He has your AF CD, as well as a first press WB green label and a US white label promo (as well as a UK Harvest, Japan issues, etc.). He says your version is hands down the winner! Myself, I have the first press WB green label, and it sounds...okay. A bit bright, I'd say!

    I'm curious - have you heard the white label promo? It does indeed sound better than stock copies I've heard.

    Sad to hear the master tape is in such "shaky" shape...

    Great album though. Cheers!

    Too bad Steve didn't get a shot at mastering the Coverdale/Hughes era albums. I would have loved to hear his take on these titles. Oh well, at least we got all of the 70s era Gillan/Glover albums.
