I'm sorry if I offended anybody. I deleted my original post so I could run five of my AJA CDs through EAC to see what I had. Strangely enough ALL of them test out the same:
    90.8 --- 91.7 --- 90.6 --- 88.7 --- 96.3 --- 86.2 --- 97.6

Does this mean I went five for five in my quest to obtain Steve's mastering? I have three others but they are all BMG discs done by JVC with boosted high frequencies.
Here is the info on the five tested discs:
    1. MCAD-37214-U7C1 Made in Japan TT is 40:00
    2. MCAD-37214-A8E12 Made in USA TT is 40:00
    3. DIDX-000055 3 Made in USA TT is 39:58
    4. CI-5650-1 (Other numbers are scratched out) Columbia House DIDY 55; CRC
    TT is 39:58
    5. 5 1AMCD 37214-2 SRC+01 M1S19 Columbia House DIDY 000055; CRC
    TT is 40:00

Sorry if I've confused this issue.

Thanks. It seems as though the Japanese VDP disc has a unique mastering. I'd be curious to know if anyone has compared it to other versions.

You have missed the point. Does it say anywhere on this copy that Steve Hoffman remastered it? Why have you not quoted your source that Steve Hoffman remastered it? Who did you speak to - Steve Hoffman in person??

Please have a read of the guidelines:

My version of Aja clearly was mastered by more than one shooter.
