I don't yet have the set, but I'm familiar with all these shows, and one of the high points IMO is Phil's solo on New Potato Caboose, 3/1/69-I, even though his bass is a bit out-of-tune. Speaking of... was this perhaps fixed from the multitrack sources?

Also (and I'm sorry if this was addressed earlier), do the discs preserve all the "dead air"? Specifically, I'd hope that there's no cut between the end of set II and the "Hey Jude" encore on 3/1/69. If I remember correctly, my best version from the multitracks had to splice in portions from the two-track recording to cover it all. And likewise for some of Bill's introductions? (I love 'em, especially when he gets his references a bit wrong... "the American version of the Japanese film 'The Magnificent Seven'").

And FWIW, I love that sloppy impromptu "Hey Jude". A pure and authentic moment of unexpurgated Pig.

When you receive you box, let us know how you had it shipped. Mine is coming USPS and they said allow 7-12 days.

Same here. Mine has, again, yet to show... not par for the course... as I always use regular shipping and the discs from gdstore.com always come in 3 - 4 days. It has already been 7 days and no sign of the box. :shake:

Still no sign. I hope there isn't a dishonest Dead Head in my building (or worse, the mailman).

I know GDS ships with a delivery confirmation via USPS, but you would think the limited nature and expense of the box set would warrant automatic UPS shipping.

At least they shipped the item in a box. I was afraid they would ship it in one of those flimsy package/bag mailers they are famous for. I still don't understand why they ship other box sets and digipak releases in these when the items are so easily damaged because they are not well protected.

Mine arrived today. I got #5,587. Along with that, my King Kong Collector's Tin arrived as well. Talk about two great icons! My vacuuming in a little while is going to go by much more nicely in a little bit.

5,991 here. Did anyone else have o sign for it. The mailman left a slip yesterday saying signature required and I had to go down and sign for it today.

That's odd. The book that came w/ my Fillmore 1969 box is in softcover.

I got mine yesterday and it's #9643. I ordered on day one, so they must be mailing them out at random. The packaging is OK, but the 3 disc version looks like it had more thought put into it.

I'm also surprised that there is no picture of the Fillmore West poster of the show:[IMG]

Anyone out there still waiting for their box to arrive???? I know I am.  :( :(   :shake: :shake: :shake:

I called the Gdstore.com customer service and they said I need to wait 12 business days. Since they shipped my box on 11/15, that means I have to wait until 12/2 to see if they can send me another. The problem is that the box is a limited edition, supposedly sold-out. What if they have no more??? :shake: :shake: :help: This is killing me.

Yesterday I made me usual stop at the Hot Tuna show in Mt. Tabor, NJ (for Tuna's annual Thanksgiving stop at that venue), where I stand in line between 3 and 4 hours to secure a front row seat, and meet with "friends" I see there every year (also Dead Heads as well as Tuna Heads).... and it seems like EVERYONE else has received their set (with normal shipping no less). I am starting to really be concerned that mine might never show.

Anyone else who ordered on this forum still waiting?????????????????????????????????

    Mike T -

It will show. I've waited incredible amounts of time (2 weeks) for some of the dead.net stuff. I understand the daily mailbox letdowns when you're dying to hear something new.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. The reason I "worry" is that I always pre-order or order Grateful Dead merchandise, as well as Dave Matthews stuff, from their respective stores (which seemed to both be run by the same business concern - Musictoday) - and I ALWAYS receive my stuff in 3 to 4 days after shipping. This is probably the longest I have had to wait, and it is one of the most desired items (being that it is supposedly limited to 10,000 units and no more).

I am sure it will show, just hope it is still in good condition and not mangled in transit (since it is taking longer than expected).

I guess I learned my lesson - go for the expedited shipping on "important items" like this one. (I also have the full Dave Matthews box set on pre-order, which is shown in your current avatar - that isn't supposed to ship until around Dec 8th or so.. we'll see how long that takes to arrive. Also going to see Dave at MSG on 12/10 - still waiting for my Warehouse fan club tickets to ship!).

    Mike,
By any chance does your mailman have long hair or smelly funny?
Worse case scenario you will own an official box set!

I just think they are probably mad at all the boxes I get everyweek (with DVDs or CDs) that they probably by chance picked this one to "f" with me.
