Can never have too many Yvonne Strahovski avatars around here...

Yes, you need to pick up Omnipop. Actually, I think reverse psychology might work better on you. The album sucks...DON'T buy it.

    • tori amos - uh... do i have to pick one? under the pink. answer might change tomorrow. but seriously, i was half tempted to answer "tori's first six albums or so."
    • imogen heap - i-megaphone. synth, and good songs. and "come here boy" is just damned sexy. i'm sold. frou frou's album (same two people) is also good, but her newest album is pretty blah.
    • paz lenchantin - songs for luci. i bet NOBODY here has heard this one. paz was the violinist/bassist in a perfect circle and zwan. the album came to me, burned on a CD-R personally by the artist, and signed by hand. and it's an amazing little album of americana folk violin, from a hot argentinian chick.
    female fronted bands okay too?
    • portishead - dummy, and
    • sneaker pimps - becoming x. two of the greatest trip-hop albums ever.

Good call...one of my favourite albums. Would be no 6 or 7 in my list but I can only have 5 so...

Joni Mitchell - Hissing of Summer Lawns
Laura Nyro - Christmas & the Beads of Sweat
Mary Margaret O'Hara - Miss America
    Patti Smith - Horses
    Barbra Streisand - Stoney End

I bought the Streisand purely because I remember her covering Stoney End in the early 70s, but the whole album is great. Patti I've loved ever since Horses came out and her recent shows have been excellent. I could have had 5/6 Joni and similar for Laura who I think is the most under-rated great singer/songwriter.

    My first post!

replace J.J.'s Pearl with Natalie Merchant's Tigerlilly

so the list goes something like this
Joni Mitchell - Mile Of Aisled (Live 2LP 1974)
    Patti Smith - Horses
Joan Armatradding - To The Limit
    Sade - Diamond Life
    Natalie Merchant - tigerlilly

    in chronologic order

    others
    for individual songs.

Rickie Lee Jones - Chuck E.'s In Love
Michelle Shocked, Anchored In Anchorage /
Suzanne Vega - Tom's Diner, Luca..
