A big surprise to me, considering how restrained it sounds, is the playing of Robin Trower on Bryan Ferry's Taxi album.

Dewey Martin and Stephen Stills on Peter Tork's "Do I have To Do This All Over Again"

Macca did not play bass on Come and Get It--he did write it and demo it, playing all the instruments himself. He told the band to copy the demo note for note, but bassist Ron Griffiths played that little walk up on bass at the end of the song, which differs from Macca's demo (Pg. 63, Without You: The Story Of Badfinger by Dan Mattovina).

Leon Russell also played on Badfinger's Suitcase (keys and the "honking" guitar part that comes in on the second verse)

Does anybody know whether or not Jimmy Page played the guitar solo on Donovan's Sunshine superman?

Not sure how under the radar it actually is, but the Jeff Beck Group (Beck, Ronnie Wood, & Mick Waller or Tony Newman on drums) backed up Donovan on the "Barabajagal" single.

As far as I know that is just someone sounding like Ian, not Ian himself.

Christopher Cross background vocals on "California Girls" , the David Lee Roth version

  19. That's actually Jerry Marotta on that track. His style is very similar to Phil Collins, and the drums were treated to the gated reverb effect that is a hallmark of Hugh Padgham's production style and also is featured on many Genesis and Phil Collins solo albums.

Actually it's Pete Townsend on guitar.

How about a couple Beach Boys ('85) tracks:
Stevie Wonder on his own I Do Love You. Drums, Bass, Fender Rhodes and Harmonica.
Ringo on California Calling, Drums of course.

The female vocalist on "Miss Sun" by Boz Scaggs is none other than Lisa Dalbello, known for her solo work (under the name Dalbello), songwriting skills (numerous artists have covered her songs from Heart and Melissa Manchester to Queensryche) and for supplying vocals on the Alex Lifeson project "Victor" in 1996. She really wails on that song too!

  25. Steve Morse's guitar solo on Queen's "Innuendo."
