I know it´s not "clear as a day", that´s why I said it took me years to see it. :)
The screen shots (taken from the Criterion DVD) are a little blurry and should just give you an idea where to look. If you watch the actual footage, you can see Jimi a lot clearer, standing behind the amps shaking his head to the music.

Clear as day? Okay. If you say so. You're sure it's not JFK?

Aw gee! I didn't mean to end up bringing something up that was going to start a fuss. Honest! I had read a long time ago that Jimi was being Keith's amps. These photos are now saying he may have been behind Taylor's amps instead. Well, he was there. We know that for certain.
Anyway, I also wanted to add that I am of the thinking, like rstamberg, that the 40th Anniversary Edition of Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out isn't going to make it until the end of the year or not until the first quarter of next year. I was thinking of this very thing two days ago because of the requests for fan recollections by ABKCO.

Indeed, that's something Klein figured out decades ago. (Hence the original GYYYO, released at least partially in response to the Live'r Than You'll Ever Be bootleg.)

OK guys I feel the love. Watch the footage closely on a PC. or maybe watch it twice. It's not JFK, Sasquatch, it's not the lock ness monster and its definitely not Brian Jones' ghost. :D

I imagine that liner note stuff can get done fairly quickly while everything else is all set in place. But I've still got a hunch that there may be some kind of delay involved somehwere before it's all over. If one chooses to look at it on the bright side, November (especially if it turns out to be a late Nov. release date) is still a ways off.

"clear as day" ??! Hardly, looks like Sasquatch shooting at JFK pictures on the History Channel.

Jimi was wearing the same clothes inthe footage shot backstage. Also those stills are from teh DVD and not BluRay.

Jesus Christ... if I had known people would get so grumpy about a few seconds of footage of Jimi Hendrix dancing behind an amplifier, I would have never mentioned this little tidbit, let alone taken the time to create the screenshots.

For those who have it and would like to see this more clearly: Just watch the goddamn DVD.

I don´t think Gimme Shelter is out on BluRay, yet. Criterion announced a release few months ago but they seem to have cancelled it.

Speaking only for myself, I was just funnin'. :) Sorry if it came out as unappreciative of your gesture.

I'm a huge Stones fan and an equally big Hendrix fan, so I really am thankful for your posting those shots. Points out that I've got a major gap in my DVD collection.

    4 discs, WOW!!!

Another forum member said (on closed thread) that he wonders if one of these discs will be the "Gimme Shelter" movie. That is my suspicion, which for me personally is a waste, as I already have the Criterion DVD, but even still, what are the other 3 discs (obviously, one is the regular "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out" album")?

I wonder why that pic of Guitar Hero 5 is in there.
I know they released Satisfaction and Prodigal Son Live DLC, I am guessing from this concert.

I zoomed in as close as I could and it looks like it says: Download "I'm Free (Live)" for Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero. Must be a bonus download.
