    *This* caught my attention:

<EXILE ON MAIN STREET 2010 tbc
As communicated earlier – now to be released early 2010 in multi formats as part of wider plans for this title.">

    Multi-channel?

    Blu-ray disc?

    Hmm.

That photo's been misidentified - it's not Klein.

Here's Mr. Abkco himself in 2002, courtesy of Bob Gruen:

I believe the initial post was questioning the press release announcing Ya-Ya's, not Klein's death. That NYT article is about Klein.

No details yet, but an official announcement on the ABKCO website:

They are also looking for fan reports:

Sean Weiss, Nat Weiss' son, told me once that he and Johnny Thunders went to one of those MSG shows in 1969. He could probably write a nice piece on that...

I think I read somewhere that Thunders was at Hyde Park, too. Johnny did his homework!

I hope the liners will mention that Jimi Hendrix supposedly sat behind Keith's amps at one of the shows. I just wish somebody had taken a clear photo of that.

If you look very closely (it took me years until I noticed it), you can see Jimi dancing behind Mick Taylor´s amps during Honky Tonk Women in the Gimme Shelter movie.

Sam Cutler's book recalls Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin AND fifty others being in the dressing room at the MSG shows. Th Stones had a very strict rule on no guests just prior to the gig, so the room was asked to clear. A drunk and belligerent Janis was cleared with the rest. Jimi was a "sweetheart" and offered to leave too, but was given a wink to stay.

The photo below is from the 1972 "Rolling Stones" collection of articles edited by David Dalton.

Anyone get a still from the BR versino of the GS movie?

Too bad the Jimi backstage footage isn't on the Criterion DVD bonus section.

I watched this tonight - three times. I paused, still-framed, you name it. Nary a Jimi Hendrix to be found. Somebody's trippin', is all I've got to say! :realmad:

Prove it with a screengrab or this pipe dream goes into the "UFO" files!

Something tells me this reissue won't make it this year, especially if they're still looking for fans' input.

'Jimi clear as day?' Could be the second shooter or the Loch Ness Monster as far as I can see.
