Well Greg Lake did say 5.1 surround was happening for the ELP catalogue so if once again Mr. Wilson is behind the mixing desk, I think we will all be very happy...especially if these remixes come out in April like it says on ELP's website.

Feel free to say anything else you know Mr. Wilson... :righton:

I can also think of a certain other album that will be celebrating it's 40th
anniversary this year by another 70's prog rock band that we'd all hope
would land in your lap ;) ie...one that you wrote about in an article not
    long ago ;)

If you're referring to one "Close to the Edge" I've heard that some of the multitracks for one or two of the songs are missing, making a full scale 5.1 remix impossible.

HOWEVER, there apparently was a Quad mix that was done in the 70s that has yet to see the light of day, so maybe that could be released...

But here's a very good question for Steven:
If you ARE remixing the ELP albums in 5.1 surround, does that include "Brain Salad Surgery", which has already been remixed in 5.1 surround?
Personally, I feel that even though that 5.1 mix is pretty good, I feel that SW could do an even better job.
And also, there's a bonus 5.1 mix of "Lucky Man" included on the DVD-A of BSS as well. Would that be the same mix or would SW do a new 5.1 mix of that song too?

What state are the original 1/2" masters in by now?

I feel pretty safe with my go to original vinyl core5 and subsequent 24/96 needle drops, they would take some beating I fear.

Interest suddenly sparked again thanks to Mr. Wilson...

But can't believe these re-issues are beating "Lark's Tongues..." release date!

Yes, but I don't think that is Steven's choice. According to Robert Fripp's online diary, SW finished mixing Larks' about a year ago. It's all down to the record companies.
Personally, I wish they'd release every mix of his that's finished right now!
I have no patience, whatsoever! :D

Can't say I'd buy any more ELP reissues on CD. I have bought so many copies of these already.

HOWEVER, I am absolutely going to buy any 5.1 ELP releases mixed by Steven Wilson and I am sure I will treasure each and every one of them.
