Does that Progressive Insurance woman annoy anyone besides me?

Thats the thing about the character. Flo seems to have been transported to the present from a diner in 1961.

I love Flo!

 

Yeah - she does now that you mention it. Hey...I think I'm falling in love.

 

She has a bit of a Jay Leno chin in that one picture.

 

Yeah, I don't mind looking at her, it's just everything that comes after that.

 

She doesn't even come close to being amongst the most annoying women on tv: Katie Couric, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, etc.

I could agree with you on that front, but I'm not bombarded with their faces nearly as much as ol' "Flo".

And that white outfit with those black Converses...fashion police, arrest that woman!

For most annoying person on TV, its a two way tie between CNN's Nancy Grace and Jane Valez Mitchel.

But back OT, I would personally take any 10 Progressive commercials in lieu of the constant Viagra and Lavitra ads. It makes me long for those innocent days of Midol, Summer's Eve, and Kotex ads.

But her accent sucks compared to the green lizard.

 

I think the almost completely white set and white costume is suppose to represent Progreesive as insurance heaven and 'Flo' as everyone's personal insurance guardian angel.

Oh yes, add Grace and Mitchel to that list and Oprah, too. I only see Nancy Grace for a few seconds whiel channel surfing, but even when she is absolutely correct for whatever issue she is ranting about I can't stand her. Given the choice I'd rather chew glass than be forced to watch Velez Mitchel or Grace. In comparison Flo is peaceful, soothing relief.

 

Nancy Grace is the most annoying right now, along with Ann Coulter. Oprah isn't as annoying as she used to be.

 

She's slacking off!

 

BTW, IIRC, forum member "Pencil Chewer" once indicated that she'd been told she looked a lot like "Flo"...

 

And, she's a grocery checker! Baaaad combo!

 

At least she is easy on the eyes and hasn't been around for years like the Energizer bunny, Jared from Subway or that really annoying guy from Verizon. Now those commercials drive me crazy.

 

What does that mean? That she's a "groundling"?

 

She didn't appeal to me at first. Actually, she resembled my second wife! However, after a while, she started to grow on me a bit. One thing she has is a great voice. She has a very clear distinct voice at the end of the ad when she is doing the VO.....it's a very "friendly" sounding voice.

I can't stand her. It's not her appearance. She's obviously a pretty girl. If I had never seen one of those commercials and someone showed me a picture of her, I'd say yeah, she's attractive. Her her personality (in the adds) is so grating that I can't even appreciate her on a superficial level. She's like Rachel Ray to me. Both are attractive enough if you just see them and never hear them, but personality wise (particularly the voice) they are just so off putting.

 

I'd also like to know what a "groundling" is?

 

I believe we got Pee Wee Herman and the late Phil Hartman from The Groundlings.
