    I know, this thread is more than a year old ...

    But the last comment, the peak levels on the Brazil disc. They don't quite match, but are very close to, an unusual pressing mentioned earlier in the thread:
    100.0 / 100.0 / 56.3 / 41.6 / 22.7 / 72.6 / 69.1 / 89.6 / 56.5

    That one is a WG for USA (Warner Bros) pressing with the channels reversed. (High hat on So Far Away on the right; it ought to be on the left.)

    Someone might want to determine whether the Brazil CD has reversed channels.

    I think for anyone collecting good sounding Dire Straits CDs, Japan for US WB CDs you cant go wrong.

    Well the Vertigos are generally liked here, with compromise early fades,dropouts etc.
    theres nothing wrong with the Japan for US CDs, which are well received also.
