For the sake of ease and on Gort Gary's recommendation here's the newly updated version. Please keep in mind that the majority being removed at this point do not sound so bad and I've just found a pressing I prefer over it.

Not everyone might agree and that's ok. If you are sure of a better version please speak up. Thanks.

I prefer the standard USA CBS/Columbia pressings at least until I can find/afford the Japanese 1st pressings and even then there's no guarantee I'll like them better.

Honestly, I would prefer a combination of the MFSL UD and the 1st pressing W. German Polydor.

I haven't heard any I've liked so far, but I haven't heard Santana and Linda Ronstadt.

Thanks, it's the Japanese 1st pressings I have now. Hysteria isn't much of a difference at all really.

Japanese 1st pressing all the way. The MFSL is good, but the Japan just sounds more natural to me with slightly better definition.

The MFSL CD of Muddy Waters' Folk Singer is very good although I do like the sound of Classic's HDAD disc just a tiny bit more. They're both very good.

I don't see Joe Walsh's Barnstorm on the list. Are these just gold discs or are there some silvers in here too?

For what it's worth...I have not heard the new Santana, but I have the new Linda Ronstadt and it sounds quite nice.

I think the first Japan release of Hysteria (32PD??) is actually a WG CD with Japan packaging, does this sound correct or am I thinking of another Leppard release? IIRC the 28PD is the first Japan CD.

Jamie, these are only the original gold CD's. The silver MFSL's in general are great and I can't even think of one bad one I've heard. Well, one exception but I think it just may have been a not so great recording. YMMV
