I expect the "Romeo And Juliet" excerpts are the same. It's indeed a great recording.

I don't think I would make it in time, though I would love to show up simply to listen to some Bach on your special garage system. :)

The CD (the first digital version) you have does not include all 9 excerpts Mitropoulos recorded for the LP (rec. 11.11.57). This CD ommits the Folk Dance (Suite 1, No 1; 4'18) and R&J before parting (Suite 2, No. 5; 8'23); so approx 13 minutes of music! The latest version not only includes all 9 numbers, but these are coupled with Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" and Prokofiev's "Lieutenant Kije Suite"; both exciting recs by the same team.

How about Andrew Litton? I would imagine Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra has to be a few notches above the Dallas Symphony. No?

The pic rather looks like listening to Syd era Floyd stuff after taking the kind of drugs that give you night vision. :D

This CD has the best Haydn sonata I have ever heard IMO. The SQ is quite good for a 1962 live recording ...

My favorite WTC, though I've only heard Gould, Fellner, and Pinnock.

Has Pinnock ever recorded WTC? I know he recorded the Partitas twice, first with DG Archive, then with Hanssler. I bought the latter essentially for better and newer sound after having owned the DB Archive version for many years ...

Goldberg Variations have been performed more often on piano than on harpsichord over the past twenty years. I listened to an older version by Leonhardt last week and really enjoyed the performance.
