I thought I'd drop in to provide a bump and while I'm at it post a picture of a very nice recording of some Scarlatti sonatas (though no K.141) on the harpsichord which I am listening to right now.

And if you think performances on the harpsichord are always a staid affair, listen to Cuiller's K.115!

Not participating, but I predict Tharaud wins, followed by The Pog, Horowitz back in the pack.

No reason not to enter the fray, I'd say. I'm sure in 2012 you're in the majority with respect to harpsichord versus piano for this piece.

I just voted by PM. I really liked the link to the sheet music.

Pretty good turn-out so far - and I still haven't voted! (And I promise I will this weekend/Monday...)

I think simpler comparisons may help the turnout. The piece is not too long. we only have eight choices and they are really easy to differentiate.

I personally like when there are fewer choices. It makes it a lot easier to compare the performances. I'd like six even better than eight.

I agree; candidly, I have a hard time staying focused across eight different interpretations, and remembering all of their differences -- I take quick notes, but that only helps so much -- and six should be easier.

I wish I knew the repertoire better -- I'd like something other than piano. Possible chamber, orchestral, or even vocal short pieces would be very interesting.

I do tend to focus on piano but anyone can jump in anytime and do something different.
