Looking at the first two shows, assuming the posted set lists are 100%, they played 18 different songs. Balls to Picasso: 3 Accident: 4 Chemical: 5 Tyranny: 1 Mandrake: 4 Cover tune: 1
Bruce sounds incredible here (only checked Starchildren), just goes to show that he still has that late 90's/Early 2000's vocals when not straining so high like on a lot of the recent Maiden albums (and in a few spots on Mandrake).
Can not wrap my head around the singing on those albums at all. It's as those songs were written for somebody else and he has to fill in last minute.
To be fair, he struggled mightily on Darkside of Aquarius, particularly the first night. But, overall, he sounds very good (and he improved the second night, so he might get even a bit better with a little time).
Official tour opening show setlist (after 2 "secret" shows) from The Observatory, Santa Ana, CA, USA: Spoiler "Navigate the Seas of the Sun" added to the encores: Bruce Dickinson Setlist at The Observatory, Santa Ana
I found a video of the added song and hid it in the spoiler tags of the previous post, just in case someone goes to the gig and doesn't want to know anything about the songs being played.
Do we think Bruce is giving a USA tour this year? It seems like he is free from the middle of July til the start of September when Maiden starts up. Seems like he’d probably need August off to rest and prepare for Maiden. That stinks if there’s no tour stateside until next year.
Listened to a few clips from last night. Yup, he sounds amazing. Much, much better than on Saturday. If any of you has the opportunity to see him live this time, don't miss that chance!
Guy with the black Les Paul guitar went way out of tune before The Tower, what a mess … Jump to 37 min. edit : I think he was drop D for another song and forgot to tune back up to normal for this. His guitar sounds like one of those droning instruments from Indian music.
Wow that's bad. I always be at least a few shows from the opening of a tour, so this type of stuff can be worked out.
