All I know is Arcade Fire - Neon Bible is unlistenable; brickwalled to the nth degree.... I just needed to vent.

You're welcome. If you have Windows, a virtual installation of Windows on an Intel Mac, or the Wine installed on Linux, you should add stuff to the database by downloading the DR+ software.

DR+ does work under Wine for sure

BTW, I have discovered that VirtualBox does not read audio CDs in the CD-ROM drive, but reads DVDs and data discs so for full CD support on Mac in a virtual machine, either use Boot Camp or Parallels, or use a Linux distribution such as Ubuntu and Fedora and use Wine.

It'd be far easier to track down the CDs that were not brickwalled. I think someone started a thread last year on that very topic. Perhaps someone with better search skills than me can find it?

I listened to this CD earlier today and it sounds horrible. This is the first Mark Wilder mastering I've heard that is brickwalled, at least on some of the tracks.

I will bump this thread for any newcomers who aren't aware of the DR+ program and website.

Lady Gaga's albums on vinyl get higher ratings than they do on CD.

This is a great little program. Too bad they don't give it away freely like they used to & promote it more. I'm suprised they haven't updated it to scan 24/96 files. Nonethless, it's very useful.

My installer that is linked in my first post in the thread is the older edition from back when it was given away for free. New updates have to be paid for.

Indeed it does Unknown Delight. Apparently, my installer on MegaUpload is the latest Windows installation file out there.

Good site; just be sure to read the details on whatever title you are checking out. For instance, the version of Sinatra's "Songs for Swingin' Lovers" is not the official Capitol release, but one of those European "gray label" releases.

You're welcome. Do you have the software yet, George? It is up to us to submit data.

Is there any way you can search that site?

There is a search engine right at the top of the page underneath the ratings on the right hand side.

For the pay version (including the Mac version): http://www.dynamicrange.de/en/active-member Version 1.1 only works on Windows and Linux with Wine or a virtual installation of Windows XP or 7 on an Intel Mac. The site though recommends 1.3 or 1.4.

The reason why you need to go 1.4 if you are heavily using it is because 1.1 doesn't work for submission.
