Sonopress 1987. Has an unprocessed 'clone of master' feel to the sound. The '87 Columbia Japan is great too.

Yes, that matches my UK original CDP 7 48068 2 which is what I and Roland think lacks some bass/sounds a bit thin. Here's my Japan Mini-LP:

Talking DR. I think that '87 Holland that BIG ED mentioned is wrong information in the database (more like a remaster). See here: http://pinkfloydarchives.com/DNLCDPF.htm#MLOR1 which also matches the 1987 UK and WG EMI

    See here:

    "EMI CD EMD 1003, CDP 7 48068 2"
    Which matches w/:

    &
    http://www.discogs.com/Pink-Floyd-A-Momentary-Lapse-Of-Reason/release/1080984
both from the Netherlands in 1987.
    An "EMI ‎– CDP 7 48068 2" [RM] is:
    http://www.discogs.com/Pink-Floyd-A-Momentary-Lapse-Of-Reason/release/2981659
butt is not from the Netherlands nor Holland.

The link you provided does not match the ceedees i'm getting off of DRD/Discogs.

Not saying/posting i know for-sure, just going by Discogs, so please correct me if i'm wrong!
    BIG thanks.

The link I provided was to Veron Fitch's Pink Floyd archive site which listed the 1987 release in Holland. This matches the WG and UK original non-remastered CDs.

The different release with lower DR figures must come from the later EMI/Uden, as I mentioned. From Veron's site: http://pinkfloydarchives.com/DEUCDPF.htm#MLOR94 you'll see the CDP 7 48068 2, CDEMD 1003 listed twice. The 1994 (which is just a re-issue non-remastered EMI) and the 2009 which IS a remaster. It shares the same master as the CD in the OBTW box (darker blue column in the gif that was posted on page 1).

I hope that answers your question. :)

    This.
I like Gilmour's vocals more on the 2011. But on the other hand, the remaster lacks some of the clarity the 1987 Sonopress has. I'm really on the fence for AMLOR.

This discussion has gone back and forth a lot but is there any conclusion? Which version should I buy? I've got the 87 version, is there a better one?

  8. I have the 87 CK 40599 DIDP070659. I like the sound of it, even though I am not the biggest fan of this album. I have never heard any of the other versions as far as I'm aware of, but I am interested in finding out more about them. Time to pull a few bucks and grab a couple to see what I can hear.
