No bins at any of the five FS's I checked today.

The bins I've found in BB's are branded with the Best Buy logo.

Today, I checked out their "budget bin", as recommended by this thread, and found a copy of Herb Alpert & TJB Collector's Edition tin box of their 3 essential albums for $17.99. As it was the only copy, I grabbed it. Thanks to the OP.

That's not really much of a deal, as I see that tin for around $20, all the time!

    I found this today...

FYI for the Canucks on board, Best Buy currently has a 35% off deal on CD's. The discount also applies to 'the bins'.

"Time* Sex* Love*" cost me $2.59 at the till.

Still no budget bins at the local Best Buys :(

And I've pretty much scooped almost every SACD I could find during the 25% Off Sale

Hmmm, looks like I'm taking a ride there later. Thanks for the heads up!

You might want to check again Blair...

Stores that didn't have bins a month ago now do... perhaps part of the post-Christmas purge.

They must have send all of N.America's SACDs and Hi-Rez discs to your local store!

I haven't seen any SACDs in my Best Buys for about a year

The Vancouver Best Buys are a wasteland for Hi-Rez.

Best Buy was late entering the BC market though so maybe that's why the Ontario stores just have way more backlog to offer these deals.

And I'm starting to think most of the Hi-Rez discs for the whole country were consolidated in Ontario for liquidation.

That ELP is an amazing find.

When I got to the store the cutie clerk was just unloading a new batch into the bin... I offered to help her saying I'd just have to take them out again anyway.

'BSS' was in the first mittfull. Seriously. It was surreal... it must have been my day.:righton:

"Cutie clerk" at Best Buy? Man, those Canadian Best Buy stores are a lot different than the ones in the US - and I'm not just talking about the bargain bins.

I'm guessing that if BB in Canada is dumping all music disc media (there was a copy of 'The Joshua Tree' and 'Sticky Fingers' in the bin as well for $1.99), they will be doing the same south of the border in the near future.

I thought they were only dumping hi-res disks - SACD, etc. in Canada and not regular CDs.

I have NEVER seen a "bargain bin" at any local Best Buys. Most here in the Sactown area have very SKIMPY cd sections anyway.

99.9% of the bins are CD's... I just got lucky doing some digging.

I don't think the people putting the clearance stickers on know the difference.

The ones in London, ON have had a few SACDs as well. Nothing too special..Dredg, Mary Chapin Carpenter, etc...I picked a couple up mainly for the cases. I was able to pick up a few DVD-A's though- got Grover Washingtons Winelight and a Moody Blues title.
