1979 was a bad year for music by the looks of it. I abstain.

  7. 1) Led Zeppelin - In Through The Out Door
    2) Supertramp - Breakfast In America

The only two on the list I have played in the last ten years. Billy Joel's album was the only other one on the list I have ever owned.

It's one of the few songs by him for which the melody and arrangement overcomes the typical smugness of his lyrics.

It's a poll about the albums that made it to #1 in the US. None of those charted that high...

Rod, The eagles and The Zep were on their last legs... no one on this list comes close to Supertramp.

Shockingly, Off The Wall peaked at #3 in the U.S. and U.K.

I guess I bought the first 3 at the time. Thought 52nd Street was just OK and did not like Rod's album at all, so that leaves the Blues Brothers as my favorite from the list. My overall favorite from 1979 would've been the Heartbreakers' Live at Max's Kansas City, so the others on this list weren't really on my radar.

Michael Jckson's "Off The Wall" surprisingly only reached #3. "Bad Girls" is a good choice though.

I disagree with you. I found 1979 to be a pretty strong year in music. Even the #1 albums that year were pretty good.

Bad Girls for me -- no question.

A couple of the others are okay, but I dislike quite a few of them.

The only really surprising thing about the poll results so far is how poorly the Doobie's Minute by Minute is doing. Guess when AF released the gold disc for that album, it didn't fly off the shelves given how few people seem to like it here.

I agree. That's the only Zep album I like less now than I ever did before (I've actually never liked II). It has some great stuff on it, but also a lot of filler, the result of John Paul Jones having a lot of time on his hands with Jimmy Page AWOL.

parkmebike I'm in love with a girl...

The Eagles - The Long Run for me. It's still my favorite Eagles album.

  25. Supertramp's Breakfast in America is my choice. In Through The Out Door has its great moments and would be my second choice. I think I'm gonna Crawl is better than any song on Breakfast In America.
