I don't know about anything pre- or post-White Album, but personally, I'd be delighted to see a remastered 40th Anniversary issue on 22 November. As another poster mentioned earlier in this thread, the rest could follow incrementally in 2009—say between January and August. I wouldn't mind that at all.

Paul was hanging out with Neil Young and decided to release them as Blue-Ray

I'm not suggesting adding "Hey Jude" and "Revolution" into the body of the White Album. I'm suggesting a bonus disc with these songs and the other songs recorded during the White Album era.

I like that idea as well, of course. The bonus disc could be a DVD filled with extras.

Hopefully we won't have to get into a discussion on the meaning of the word "is"...

I won't discuss the meaning of "is" but what do you mean by "loaded"?

Yeah, I posted that yesterday. It would work perfectly for the Christmas release of the remaster this year. Just about a perfect date to release the remaster . Right before the Thanksgiving weekend shopping mania begins..

  18. Someone at www.quadraphonicquad.com claims to have insider information that:

    - the announcement will be made next month

    - a deluxe edition will include 5.1 surround

    - new stereo mixes for both standard and deluxe editions (original stereo mixes being retired)

    - mono mixes and extra tracks on the deluxe edition

    - deluxe edition might also include hardbound book

Oh cool, like the deluxe edition of the Help! DVD. This ought to be interesting...regular version $30, deluxe edition $129.99...we'll see...

Humm... the original mono mixes are worthy of inclusion but not the original stereo mixes? weird. I hope this is not correct. Apple, please remember we never had the original stereo mixes for PPM, MTB, AHDN, BFS, Help and Rubber Soul on the official CDs... (well, ok, except on the Canadian CDs for the last two)

Are you assuming mono + stereo split over three CDs when you say 'triple album' ?

My post simply assumed a plain jane stereo 2-disc set with a DVD of extras tagged on.

I'm not Henry, but to me, 'loaded' would be mono + stereo + outtakes + single + promos + interviews + TV specials + etc.

This would likely be a 4- or 5-disc set.

A remixed stereo White Album ? With the original stereo mixes retired ?

What about the mono mixes ? Would they not also be retired ?

Oh boy. I didn't wanna post that because I thought there'd be 1000000000 questions. I saw it last night. I see already people are questioning it.:sigh:

    Remasters !

I "think" the prices will be (in dollars) approx
Standard CD double (no bonus disc) 15/25.00 dollars
    Deluxe triple cd 5.1 mono/stereo (1 bonus disc) 35/45
Vinyl 25/35 dollars for standard double (new sonics)
Vinyl 45/60 dollars for triple white bonus disc music on both sides
Deluxe special edition dvd + triple album cd 5.1 mono/stereo + 45rpm housed in LP sized box (ala HMV but better) 100 bucks.. limited/numbered.

Later there will a vinyl version of the special edition + dvd inc 45rpm white coloured vinyl.

I am hilghy skeptical, but I'd buy that. I'm fine with orignal wide stereo mixes being retired because of somme of the sloppiness when they were originally done, and I'm generally ok with the mixes (not mastering) of stuff on Yellow Sub and Love (not the mashups, but something like Back In The USSR or Walrus)
