Anyone notice the cheap black-triangle Abbey Road CDs on eBay recently?

What about contacting bidders to warn them about this item? Has this been mentioned yet? Would this be against Ebay rules?

 

Yes, unfortunately it is against eBay rules. These sellers are pretty savy to this tactic as you'll notice that the majority use the ID kept private in their auctions to avoid this.

 

Keith, I noticed that listing yesterday morning. I also noticed that it was another "private auction". These criminals are good at covering their tracks.

 

Well i must say that after e mailing and asking him for a refund he promply credit it my Paypal account in the amount of $71.85 (wich included shipping cost). I urge anyone else who as recently bought the fake rare Japanese Abbey Road from "WAY2SKINNY" on e bay to ask for a complete refund.

Great! Out of curiosity, had you informed way2skinny04 that you knew the disc to be a counterfeit or did you give a different reason for returning the disc? I'm wondering if, by chance, other people have requested refunds and he is feeling some pressure. Alternatively, he may have figured it best to let you go quietly rather than make waves. On the one hand, by refunding your money, one could take that as an admission of guilt. On the other hand, he may not want to draw too much attention by fighting people on the legitimacy issue. In the end, he will probably sell the disc you just returned.

Based on your experience with way2skinny04, I would encourage anyone who bought a fake disc from iluvkaykay to also pursue a refund. Either iluvkaykay and way2skinny04 are one in the same or they are working together.

 

If it were me I would leave a positive feedback that says something like: "refunded money for CD, which turned out to be a copy".

He has another fake on ebay as we speak.

 

Actualy the 2 sellers you have listed are the same person. I think when someone returns the CD, he just lists the CD again. Not everyone will notice it is a counterfeit CD, so he still makes money in the long run.

Apparently, eBay and PayPal do not care about what he is doing as long as they get their listing fees. Just look at his old feedbacks, he has been selling counterfeit CDs for a long time. He has about 10 different ones listed as rare that he has sold over and over again.

 

Anyone Done Business With A Ebay Seller Sermad Out Of The Uk?

 

Based on this sellers great feedback rating I would suggest that they're a safe bet even though I have not purchased from them I would definitely feel confident in buying from them.

Infuriating, isn't it? For the past two weeks I've been pestering the seller with questions about the CDs authenticity. No responses, of course.

 

Pete, did you request/pay for airmail shipment or just the least expensive method?

Hmmm, sounds to me like he might have sent it via ground mail and let me tell you it can take up to 9 weeks to receive it by this method so don't loose hope until then unless you hear otherwise that it was sent air.

Thanks Pete and you're welcome! I was very temped to deface the CD is some way before I sent it back to him for that very reason. I also thought to just send him a CD-R of his copy back. It would be just another fake!
